As an aspiring Harness Racing driver, the Vin Knight memorial and Phonse Hickey memorial are the races I most want to win. Harness Racing hasn't been the same since Vin passed.

Not that long ago and yet they were still ignorant about mental health. Hinch describing Vin as a loser, then Pamela Graham ends the story by talking about 'rumoured gambling debts' and suggesting that was what caused Vin to take his own life. Very ordinary, even by Hinch's standards.

Get your story right. His wife had left him, yes. But it was Vin who was involved with the wife of one of the Justice brothers. There was a lot more going on too. His mother had died of cancer after being nursed at home by the family. His sister and one of their workers had been killed in a horror road accident. His relationship with Mrs Justice had caused the Justice brothers to take their horses away from Bob Knight which meant a lot of the Knights cashflow was gone too. Don't go around spreading stories if you don't know the facts.

His death signalled the end of Harness racing in Aust. Out goes Knight Village Kid Pure Steel Preux Chevalier and great Harness callers like Brian Markovic and in comes garbage like Barrie Melicki a dud caller if there was ever one. Long odds-on favourites ruled tough staying legends were no longer wanted outsourcing ruined many good paying jobs and the sport was deceased.
