A glottal stop is a complete closure of the vocal cords, preventing airflow. So if you don't pronounce the middle T's in the word 'little' then you have a glottal stop. But this is not necessarily a bad thing and can actually be part of your USP in a crowded voice over market.

I'm one of the few remaining bastions of the Lancashire R so I am glad you have pointed out having these USPs is not a negative. Thank you!

Not at all a negative - your Lancs accent is definitely a bonus.

You prompted me to do a search to learn what the Lancashire R sounds like. I was born and reared in a region of the US that uses a rhotic speech pattern. So, like you, I pronounce my Rs where they appear, and it makes me smile to know that you are persisting in this pronunciation while others around you appear to be moving away from it. 😀 I do not use the "intrusive R" (e.g., pronouncing the name "Brenda" as if it were "Brendar" or "Brender"), which I've heard many people from various English-speaking countries employ. Is that something that is commonly used in Lancashire?

@@fiberjazz the intrusive R appears in more rural areas and particular Bristol I find, so I do have relatives that roll them a bit although I tend not to. I was always chosen to be a reader at school because despite being broad accent wise I can adjust how I deliver lines. Acting and voice work is an interest I wish I'd nurtured as a teenager but social pressure pushed me away from it. A pity.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm sure you'll find your versatility to be a big asset in your voice work. I'm glad that you are now having the opportunity to pursue interest in voice acting. Wishing you much success! 👍⭐@@BrynBuck

Fun topic for this video! It made me realize that I pronounce the double T, but (egads!) I am inconsistent with the single T! 😲

If it sounds ok (with or without the double t) then that’s fine. The issue would come if the pronunciation of one word sounded incongruous with the rest of the piece.
