Heres a tip i learned from a vet for harness training! When the harness is first on, immediately play with your cat with a string or light, something to get them really moving. It helps them understand that the harness doesnt stop them from moving. It only took 3 times doing this for my cat to understand her harness ^^

I totally gave up on harness training my cat but I may try again some day and will use this tip. I've taught him other tricks and have him recall trained very well, but he's never liked how the harness feels. We'll see though.

⁠@@talyahr3302maybe try a different type of harness. I have 3 cats, all leash trained. All of them prefer different type of harness. Maybe he doesn’t like it around his neck or it’s too thick, or it’s too tight.

Most pet strollers have built in little leashes connected to the inside, they are the perfect length to keep the pet from jumping out! I recommend checking if your stroller has one, if you haven't seen it it's probably under the padding or tucked up against the edge.

My moms cat is kinda harness trained. However, he has his very own cat tent so he can hangout outside. They are full-time RVers so he can’t roam around the RV parks. It is so cute, a cat in a tent!

We got a cat that was already 10 years old but really wanted to go outside, so with a lot of patience we managed to harness train her - that said, it's definently better to start harness training when they are younger ❤

It definitely helps to start young. Another easy way to help them get used to it is to put it on right before their usual zoomies. They act like they can’t move or function but they can’t hold in all that energy so they get used to it. Leave it on for an hour or more then repeat a few times. Then you can work on teaching them to walk outside! ❤

Pro tip add a collar and hook it to the lead as well. Cats can fit through ANYTHING double protection for my cats is a must❤

I read somewhere that the harness she wears at the end of the video is better than the thin ones because it puts less strain on her joints and body when you have to pull the leash for whatever reason, no clue if that had anything to do with why she was doing better after a while! But I'm glad to see you use those vest harnesses!
