Sitting in the year 2024 still enjoy this movie. I went to the theater to see it when it came out.

This movie is a work of artistic brilliance! Normally, rom-coms do VERY little for me, but I gave this a try at my aunt's request after she said that it's "more your style." Turns out that I can completely fall in love with a rom-com if it's the right one. Plus, Maude's free-spirited view on life just reminds me so much of my nan (barring the "borrowing" things part) with whom I've always had a close bond.

Great Video! I only really wish that the very last scene with Harold and his Mother with the song I"I think I see the light" wasn't cut short! That look on his Mother's face is my single most favorite moment in the movie! Please edit to complete the scene!!

I was 13 when I saw this movie in 1972….a couple of my weird friends had seen it the year before and couldn’t stop raving about it. Still love it. The sound track really is the best

@@brucetennyson5035 I was 17 when it came out . Saw it with my brother as he was the movie critic for the Seattle Times then , we got in free ‼️Those were the best days and yes the Cat Stevens soundtrack makes the movie even sweeter. Loved and still listening! Still watching . It had a cult following in Seattle . It played on weekends at midnight as did many cult movies .

Harold and Maude is in my top five films, it’s one of a kind, brilliant, hysterically funny one moment and deeply touching the next, the Cat Stevens soundtrack is absolutely beautiful and iconic, it has a wonderful cast and it touches my heart in a way that few films seldom have. This film is my litmus test , in the past when I’ve met people who claim not to like it or who just don’t “get” it I know that we could never connect on any real level.

The first time I saw Harold and Maude was at the Roxy Theater in Buckeye Arizona as a sophomore in high school. I can’t count the number of time and have seen it. It has become my blueprint for life and somewhat of a character gauge for the people I show it to. It has become and important part of my life to many of the people I am closest to!

Sorry Pisces, but Ruth won her Oscar as Best Supporting Actress in "Rosemary's Baby". What a lot of people don't know is that she was a top notch screenwriter with her husband, Garson Kanin ("Pat and Mike", "Adam's Rib" plus how many others?)

I saw Harold and Maude in the late 70's or very early 80's when it aired on HBO. I believe that I was aware of the film from the first volume of Cult Movies by Danny Peary. I've lost count how many times I've seen the film over the decades but I have yet to get bored with it. Thankfully the plans to do a prequel about Maude before she met Harold never went farther than just talks. I cannot imagine anyone remaking this. But given the cannabalistic nature of Hollywood at the moment nothing is impossible.
