love that jason reitman ran the end of afterlife past the ramis family first, it makes it a really special thing, okay it might make some people feel uncomfortable, but if you can seperate Egon from Harold (which I can, as a fan of the behind the camera as well as in front) what it has done, is elevate Egon Spengler to the untouchable hero and guardian spirit for the rest of the ghostbusters franchise to come. brilliant stuff. RIP Harold wish you was still making films.

Love this scene with Harold Ramis, you generally believe he’s a doctor in this film. Also from personal experience about getting the right treatment for a condition you have especially at Spencer’s age. when he says he’s going to make him better, I can’t help but shed a tear, all doctors should be like that.

I spent some time trying to take apart what makes the scene so powerful, and I think it is that you have this woman who has been helpless for so long about something important, and out of nowhere she has the life-changing experience of finally getting the attention she has always wanted, a dream and wish that is so simple, and there are so many cases where people look back and felt as helpless as her. Excellent Hollywood writing.

The only reason Helen Hunt didn't become an A-List actress (although she came damn close), is because she's so natural in her roles that she doesn't have movie star appeal and she plays everyday people style characters. She's someone who when I watch I don't realise I'm watching an actress but think I'm watching an actual person, such a rare quality in actors. Even some top A-Listers who are acting brilliantly I can still tell I'm watching an actor playing a role, not like Helen. One of the most underrated actresses around. She's incredible.

When I first saw this film, this scene was absurd in my Italy. Just today, however, I experienced a similar situation: your doctor tends to no longer come to your home, he would instead send you to the emergency room for any temporary problem arising from the flu, and it is starting to be essential to personally pay for visits and tests.
