Harold and I lived in the same neighborhood. I was in high school when he became mayor of Chicago. On several occasions, I saw him riding in the back of his service car, reading a book. A few times, he looked up and waved at me.

No I believe Atlanta had the first black mayor and any major city but Harold Washington was my mayor because I’m from Chicago where are you rest in peace Mayor Washington
