Finally a harp instructor that makes it so you can actually learn a piece rather than just rushing through the piece leaving me aghast and discouraged. I have a 40 string Lyon & Healey Chicago harp….it’s lovely. I’d love to make it sing as you do with yours. I only started playing 2 years ago. Since I have developed arthritis I can’t play my classical guitar anymore…but I can still use them for a harp. Thank you for your technique of teaching!!

Hi Tiffany ! I am so glad I found your channel ! I have just beggun learning the harp and your channel is so helpful !! I started learned pieces with online shools etc and they always show you the piece then you need to stick to that and memorise without understand what you doing. This is both borring and not sustainable to me. With your way of teaching I can understand what I do and therefor become autonomus in my practice. Plus its way more exiting than just copying. Would love more videos like that one ! I will definitly check your patreon page. Did you do the video with your husband at the barron ? I would love to see that. And also, could you please do a video of how to play a song that we like from scratch ? (Without music sheet etc). I would also be super intrested by a video about tips on how to get ready to play with other musicians, which is scary to me. Thank you so much !!! Thanks Kae! I've been mostly self-taught from the beginning, I started about 10 years ago. I've learned a lot from observing and from the Ohio Scottish Arts School too. (A week long music camp every June). Looking back though I think I would have gotten on faster if I'd had a teacher. I do give Skype lessons if you're ever interested in that. :) There is a lot you can learn online and on KZbin, too!

Tiffany Schaefer, Harp & Song Poohy I forgot to ask. Are you doing the song in alto, mezzo, or Soprano for the voice part because I heard many different versions of the song (I’m Soprano though of course if you’re planing on making it alto or mezzo I have no problems with that)

It will be more of a soprano range :) probably the same key as I sing it it my other video that you saw - although, my simple version is for small harp with no levers and it works in at least two keys, one even higher. So I will most likely have both keys available in the sheet music!

This is actually by fiddler Tommy Potts (1912-1988) which I found out after I had taught this - that's why it wasn't in the description.
