This is a great interview. I love that she talked about how she evolved her understanding of beauty and how it wasn’t until later in life that she figured out how to accept herself as beautiful without the industry trappings. I always wondered how her childhood and all the fussing about her would affect her. She’s got it figured out wonderfully for herself and her daughters. Brava Brooke!

Im jealous as a child of the 90s Kate Moss was the face of the day and i did have lovely, thick dark eyebrows then I plucked them and then started getting them waxed. I'm trying to grow them in but there's sparse areas. My advice would be don't ever touch your brows apart from stray hairs in the middle.

What I noticed, is that when you use oil too often (whatever it is for, either Vit.C or other) (like every day) combined with our usual moisturizer, it starts making your skin look thick and seemingly with a wetish look. Too much product will overwhelm the skin and it will show through, and not show a nice texture. I would say don't use rich creams, use light ones, and for oils, not more than twice a week if needed. And serum, every 2 days at night. Moisturizing cream every day of course. Toner before the cream is very good. But in the end, it all depends of each person skin status or type. But it is good to check the effect of products on our skin. Like Retinol does not work well for all, it may show more wrinkles instead of helping making them disappear.

I was born in 1962 and I remember Brooke Shields as an exquisitely beautiful young girl. She has become a person of substance; yet remaining beautiful. It's interesting that I can relate to her. She is somehow quite "real". Incidentally, I too need to figure out the brows. (I tried dyeing to my original black and that looked awful. I then tried a lighter shade... of that Mennen beard stuff... a bit better the next day.) And my eyeglasses too magically get smudgy and I'm constantly cleaning them. When it comes to looks, I do admire famous women who age well, mostly by good care alone. I thnk these ladies look fantastic: Jamie Lee Curtis, Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson, Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Ali MacGraw. (More British women come to mind immediately! I don't like to be mean but I am NOT inspired or impressed with how someone like Cher looks.. Though I think she and Dolly Parton have a certain kind of inexplicable integrity even if they chase after the illusion of extreme youth. Live and let live.)
