Hi Walter - man, of course I remember you! How could I forget the guy who almost had his head torn off by Ninja when you startled him at the door of the dojo? I think I even have some pictures of you in class from back then. Good to hear from you. Many of the black belts from the class still talk - everyone you mentioned as well as Bobby Stocks, Collen, Bill Bloodgood, James Burrell, Ralph, Ritchie, and others. I just removed the physical box, and disconnected the solenoid and switches, but, the alarm will not stop unless I push the button. My wife's wheelchair will not accept the pin, so we have no need for it. I can't find a schematic for it, do you know how to kill the alarm permanently?

I guess the alarm is still connected to the power. Try disconnecting that.

Thank you very much, that is very nice of you to say. But I may not do anymore because I have had a few very bad years with my health. I had to have three disc's fused in my lower back followed by two big hip surgeries. None of the surgeries went well and for some reason, I seem to have lost my ability to sing. I can sing some songs, but nothing very high and have lost my range to the point that I do not sing very much. I am trying to get my voice back, but it has been a long time and I just can't seem to make any progress. I had taken singing lessons and was singing better than ever when I hurt my back. Since then, I just can't sing. But I will keep trying. I learned about 40 songs during that time and want to do covers. Also, I have four new guitars I want to show off! And nice people like you make me want to get back to it. It is just very hard these days but thank you for asking. It really helps to motivate me to keep trying. It's funny how a kind word from someone you have never met can mean so much. Sorry to talk so much, but I wanted to let you know why I have been gone for so long.

What is the size of the bolt on the bottom of the chair? I stopped using the system for a wide variety of reasons but mainly because I got my bolt on the bottom of the chair hung up when I was trying to use public transportation. That's no longer an issue but I can't find my bolt and I know the local dealer is going to charge me a ridiculous amount and make me come in for service. I realize that every length is different but I'm just looking for the bolt size so I have somewhere to start? Thank you for your assistance. I have a permobil F5.

I would love to help, but I have no idea what size bolt that chair uses. I bought a support from a chair that did not fit my chair and retro fitted it. The number of threads on the bolt would be the hardest thing to figure out too. That said, I think I have an extra bolt and will see if I can find it. If I can, I can measure it and see if I can find out what type of threads it has. If I can, I will respond again to this post. I will look for it this weekend. I have an idea of where it might be, but I had a major injury to my back last week and moving around in the garage is very difficult at this time - but I will try. Let me suggest that you look on eBay - lots of people sell the parts for you chair. You may have to buy a bracket for it that will come with the bolt and if I recall correctly, that is one of the ones I ran across the most often. Either way, good luck to you and I am with you, I hate the overpriced kick you while you are down we get from mobility places.

i think the bolts size is 5/8 and at least grade 8 strength.

Hi Ruben - I am having trouble finding them. They came with the unit, but I had managed to find them in a PDF download just after I bough the unit online. I saved that file but have not been able to find it. I have had to major computer hard drive failures since them on two different computers. But I think I still have a copy of it. I will keep looking this weekend as I am replacing the hard drives in my main computer and will look in my backups for it them. I will let you know if I find them. I guess it is legal for me to share them with an individual as long as I do not just toss them up there for anyone. I don't want to break any rules but I still hate the way they hide everything from people. Heck, most people wouldn't dare drill all the holes I drilled in the bottom of their own $65,000 new van anyway. haha Not me, I trust me more than them. ;)

Usually you can find them on eBay. You will most likely need to shop for a while until you find the best price. Also, search Google or whatever you use, don't lock yourself into eBay alone. You can find them all over the place at times. But most of the time eBay is the best place.

Does this affect the wheelchair itself? I just had this system fitted and my chair isn’t moving properly since then. It’s very slow and won’t turn properly either. So was wondering if this system could have somehow affected it?

No Ma'am it will not. Something else must have been changed, maybe by accident. It sounds like the speed was lowered. On my chair, you can bump the power on button and it slows down the chair one step. If you bump it a few times, it gets slower with each bump. Good luck with it, but I think I can safely say it has nothing to do with your chair. But it sure is a good system!

Oh my, you are very kind... I want to post something and have learned about 35 songs, but I destroyed my back and had multiple discs fused; then I had my hip replaced . That was a mess and it destroyed my health, I can hardly want and in pain all the time. I forgot most of the songs, and my health issues make it very hard for me to play or sing. What really makes it bad is that I bought four of the most amazing guitars in the last two years too. I was so excited about playing them and showing them off. But that said, I did build a ukulele for my wife and have missed playing so much that I just started back trying to play. I can still remember most of some songs and I will see what I can do to get some new songs posted. Thank you for the inspiration, I need that. I am truly humbled when I get messages like this and to my shock, I have had more than one. So thank you again.
