The lack of buyable homes is largely due to investment by big conglomerates that own 1000s of house that you and I cant buy anymore. Single family homes should not be investment properties or there maybe should be a limit on how many homes one can own. New houses are much more expensive to build than many older homes are to remodel. So building new houses while older houses are being held like poker chips isnt going to solve the problem. The millionaire+ investor class needs to be regulated again along with paying their fair share of taxes so we can buy houses again without having to play poker with big investors to own a home.

The $25k first time homebuyer “socially and economically disadvantaged” grant is a Biden proposal from 2021 that didn’t have congressional support. Likewise, the Biden admin used antitrust lawsuits and threats to go after grocers and food companies. Harris’s unique contribution seems to be price controls. The last time this was done was with Nixon which resulted in food shortages. If you like paying 30% more for the same food, she’s great.

Like while it obviously sounds great, payment of the employees has to come from inside the business’s revenue. To be able to afford to pay the employees they raised prices in their goods. If someone can explain how gov (who only gets its money from taxing us) will even be able to subsidize services if we experienced massive job loss? My parents made me the last packed school meal (the eternal sandwich + berry juice or milk) back in 1973.
