"The story concludes itself in this third chapter" If he only knew.
@DeathBringer7698 жыл бұрын
+Michel Stronguin For a long time that was the conclusion, lol.
@aazo58 жыл бұрын
+Michel Stronguin But he's actually right. He said "THIS story concludes itself..." Which was true. He knew about the prequels even then, as Lucas already planned for the prequels by the time of the first film. I watched a 1979 interview with Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford where they both acknowledged the fact that they weren't going to be in the upcoming prequels. Anyway, he DID know, but he's right that the actual original trilogy concluded there. Even though The Hobbit trilogy came out after the Lord of The Rings Trilogy, you'd still consider the Return of the King to be the conclusion for Lord of The Rings though, right?
@michelstronguin69748 жыл бұрын
+aazo5 so long as the same characters appear in a following movie - the story hasn't been concluded. I was not talking about the prequels, but about episode 7, 8 and 9.

***** Explain to my how they were to show x wings and TIE fighters without CGI? Explain how the Millennium Falcon was to fly without CGI? They used it where they needed to, not when they wanted to.

That is a lie. What evidence do you have of that>? i have seen interviews with George Lucas from 1978 saying that the story is over.

Vance Joudrey I think he's a carpenter's actor. He's not great with words or defining his thoughts but he can express them through his actions. I'd say the depth of emotion in his performance speaks for itself.
@SCharlesDennicon8 жыл бұрын
+Reticuli I agree. Well, more about the pretty sophisticate way he expressed it. Very few movie stars would talk that way nowadays.

He leaves the interview so fast lol
@davidmurdock47408 жыл бұрын
+obbyblobby It's probably more than just the urban legend he ragequit. His feelings about the Character of Han had nothing to do with it. Lucas was and is a Nazi about that kind of thing (plot revelations). Years before David Prowse (the guy in the Vader Suit) mentioned something on a UK talk show Lucas interpreted as a Spoiler about Luke's father. Prowse is banned from all Scifi cons to this very day. Up to and including Comicon! Ford was just probably getting the eff out of there because he knew far too well what happened to Prowse. Lucas will @#$% you till the day you die if you cross him. Dave asked him a question that he dared not answer. In any shape or form!
@Foksuh8 жыл бұрын
+David Murdock You should read up on how Prowse got screwed over due the usual Hollywood bookkeeping schemes, the guy didn't receive money from the hundreds of millions in profit that Return of the Jedi made for example.. because officially RotJ never made any profit.

I just read an article where they referred to this interview & said that Harrison got up & walked away before the commercial started becuz he was annoyed that Dave asked about ROTJ. The reason being that he was mad becuz they didn't kill off Han Solo. I know that Harrison didn't like that (he's even said so in other interviews) but I really don't think he was mad at Dave. He just didn't like doing interviews in general & was ready to get the hell out of there.

@jweekley18 жыл бұрын
+Jaimelyn Gray In 1982, he had no idea of was to come. The original trilogy did wrap itself up nicely, but that wasn't good enough for executives who smelled more money by making prequels, and now sequels.
@Tre4048 жыл бұрын
+Jim Weekley ...That's sort of a snarky, wise way to look at it, but the reality is that Lucas had plans for nine films from the beginning. I remember him saying just that in interviews when I was a kid in the early 80s.

i like how he doesn't have time to move down a chair for someone else's interview. that's how you know he's badass

It was cute how he got the hell out of there. He is a person (I think) that may not be comfortable with the attention and just enjoys his work and does not see it for the glamour and the fame aspects as we do. He just wants to go home and be Harrison and do what he loves to do. All of that attention can be uncomfortable.He wasn't nervous, he's just about his craft and wants to leave it at that.

It's interesting, I'm currently reading Robin Buss's translation of the C. of Monte Cristo and in the execution chapter (Mazzolata), there is a brief paragraph on the philosophy of man, death, and man dying alone vs. dying with someone. The point was, we, as humans, are selfish. Then I rewatch BR, and it's the replicant who forgives and becomes selfless. A diametric I would have never made without either of the two stories. Made me appreciate Blade Runner that much more.

He isn't stoned or grumpy. Every interview he's ever done is like this. This is the real him when he isn't acting. Too many people make the big mistake in thinking he's like the characters he plays. The truth is, Harrison Ford has always been an extremely shy, quiet person with anxiety. He's always very nervous and uncomfortable around people. His personality is nothing like Han's and Indy's. He's just really good at pretending to be something he isn't when he has a script.

The funny thing is, I interviewed him in 1984, I forget what he was promoting. Witness maybe? I was married, two kids, and he was so disarmingly attractive that I turned to jelly. Thank god it's not on here, since it was local. Since it was the 80s I couldn't have gotten away with it, but I wanted to tell him that I am straight, but would give up a year's salary to see every millimeter of his body, and the next year's salary to lick every millimeter of it. I meant it (I'm still married)
