If you haven’t gotten a winder for the automatic ones I’d recommend so since most of them have power reserve for less than 3 days. Unless you manually wind them each day then respect to that! 😅
@PPN4625 ай бұрын
@@extremejoyI have never really understood the appeal of a winder. Paying for a device that takes the joy away of either manually winding or setting the watch yourself before wearing it seems counter-intuitive to me. I can understand that there are days when you don’t want to deal with that or are in a hurry, and when I don’t feel like doing that, I just use my smart watch or grab a quartz 😅.

I go by seasons, two watches for each. It works for me for three reasons. You can match watches to the colors, uses and weather of the season; this gives a long interval where I can miss watches then rediscover them; it gives me a structure for slowly refining the collection without going overboard.

I like the one-day-a-week concept. My wish list has 8 because of 8 slot watch boxes 😁 but also because if I were to wear one per day the extra one is a cheap one to travel with that if it gets stolen, broken or whatever it’s not such a big deal. Arguably that could be your G-Shock. By the way, I think of a utilitarian watch and I think of a smartwatch like the Apple Watch. But I don’t like smartwatches as a concept I don’t want to charge one more device each night. It’s just if I wear a watch it has to be beautiful not just utilitarian. I admit my wish list includes 2 Rolexes that I may never ever have in my life realistically but still it’s nice to have them there. My wish list is: Tag Heuer Aquaracer Chronograph (owned), Longines Hydroconquest green (owned), Omega SMP 300m summer blue, Tudor BB burgundy, Tag Heuer Aquaracer black (the newest one for 2024 with the certified movement), Rolex Yacht Master (newest grey one), Rolex Daytona Panda, and perhaps an Orient Kamasu for travel. My next goal is the Omega to me it is my grail watch since again I may not be able to afford the Rolexes. But I can’t find any other watches that I really want for my collection. Other than other color Omega SMPs hehehe I just love that watch line.

Nice collection. I have 5, but I’m selling the King Seiko, because I just don’t need 5 watches lol. Everytime I get around 5-8 watches, I talk myself out of having so many, and I start selling some of them. I guess I’ve just always enjoyed wearing the same couple of watches day in/day out, and also where I’m not a man of considerable means, I really struggle with justifying a larger collection. Anyway here are my watches… 1. My pride and joy, the 3861 Sapphire Speedmaster on bracelet. 2. My second favorite watch, the Tudor BB58 blue on bracelet. 3. King Seiko SJE083 LE 4. Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical (white dial on a variety of natos) 5. And finally, I have the same G Shock GWM5610.

I'd sell both Rolexes and the Navitimer to get something higher up. Probably a Patek, Lange, or a smaller artisanal independent like Ferrier, Moser, Czapek, maybe a Journe? Your collection flatlined there with the mass producers under and around 10k. The GS and the Omega and the beaters, I'd keep. Wouldn't actually wear the G-Shock because that's almost as predictable as the Rolexes, but selling it would be too much of a hassle. Maybe something to wear while gardening?
