@@AfterWorkReactions You need to check it out, it has been banned on some tv stations over here very recently as it was not deemed politically correct for modern times, but it is a classic sketch and one of the best bits of television of all time. Even now the phrase 'Don't Mention the war' makes people laugh here from this clip kzbin.info/www/bejne/banRf5uwnMiKis0 btw to understand it, Basil runs a hotel and hates people, in this episode he get concussion at the same time as some germans come to stay.
@viewfromthehighchair93914 жыл бұрын
@@AfterWorkReactions My apologies, I should have provided some background and links. "Fawlty Towers" is a show created by husband and wife John Cleese (who plays Basil Fawlty and was once in Monty Python) and Connie Booth (who plays Polly in the show). In the epsisode, Basil hits his head which makes him act more cluelessly than normal (and that's saying something) when some German guests show up at the hotel. Hilarity ensues. Another commenter points out the lack of political correctness in this clip and episode and they are correct. I think what really makes these sketches is the knowledge that Hitler would have hated this mockery probably more than any others. All that fury and rhetoric, reduced to camp foppery. All that arrogance and megalomania, and when he isn't portrayed as a monster, he's just a punchline.

Josh is quiet too. I usually have to up the volume when viewing videos from this channel. Then when viewing another YT video after, I have to quickly put the volume back down as it comes through too loud. I think Josh puts his volume down because of the volume of his laugh though, but yes, in general both Josh and the reaction video can be a bit low.

We have been taking the p**s out of the Nazis for longer than people think. There was a very clever British propaganda film showing goose stepping German soldiers to the tune of "Doing The Lambeth Walk" which was a popular song at the time. The film used very clever techniques to reverse the film and fast forward it again. This was early in the war and made us laugh at the most brutal and fearsome army in the world, an army that was on our doorstep. Just found it on KZbin, check out Lambeth Walk Nazi style it's just brilliant, made in 1941
