I watched every episode of Harry O. in 1970s. It made me dream of California where I now live. I thought Farrah was and unique. My family loved David Janssen from his Fugitive days. I was 8 years old and remember our whole neighborhood shut down to watch the final episode where the one-armed man finally got caught.

I bought the complete series of the Fugitive on DVD and have been watching the episodes one after the other. Right now on the 4th season about 16 episodes to the end. Great series.

He won an Emmy for that role. My fondest memories of David Janssen were this series and as Paul Garrett, the 'narrator' of the miniseries Centennial.

In late 1974 Farrah landed the key role here ('Double Jeopardy' - o.a.d. February 13, 1975) of star David Janssen's (Harry Orwell) Santa Monica and Malibu (beach) neighbor-friend-lover, Sue -- continuing for eight episodes scattered throughout a season and a half. Capable, memorable work she does. Her billing increases to a single 'card' in the end titles (i.e., no other performer(s) sharing it with her as is often the case for costars, and always the case for featured 'players'). . . . In 2019 People magazine does a near 100-page special issue, "Remembering Farrah," and shamefully, unprofessionally, inconceivably the writers and editors of the tribute don't even mention this key credit. You know, the one just prior the "Charlie's Angels" juggernaut in 1976 - 77 which they regurgitate ad nauseam letting near everyone seem to think Farrah plopped into instant stardom out of thin air via "Angels" following a hair shampoo ad and a bit in "Myra Breckinridge" (the notorious 1970 feature). At the time of Farrah's passing practically all her obituaries ignored, overlooked, forgot the significant "Harry O" credit. Never should have happened. . . . Now, to this clip's dialogue, reference is made to Sue's (Farrah's) predecessor for three episodes, another stewardess (ed. this is pre "flight attendant" moniker) Betsy whom Harry inquires about. Totally delightful. She's played by the more voluptuous, deep brunette beauty Kathrine Baumann, a former 20th Century Fox Studios contract player, as was Farrah Fawcett at Screen Gems Productions (today, SONY TV). And who today designs/sells unique purses and handbags via Kathrine Baumann Beverly Hills name-branded creations carried by and popular with contemporary celebrities. . . . Betsy's boyfriend was an individual named Walter, (strangely) never-seen, whom Harry quipped, implied being cautious about due to his mammoth size and probable jealousy. It's the never-seen part that throws me, a regular viewer "back in the day" and in recent years, an owner/watcher of the authorized DVD sets from Warner Archive. "Something" tells me viewers got a glimpse of Walter in Baumann's debut as Betsy, 'For the Love of Money,' Jan. 16, 1975, immediately after the shows move from San Diego to Santa Monica. Perhaps his footage was 'cut for time' or ABC's or Warner Bros. Television's dissatisfaction with the actor's performance or appearance. . . . Maybe some of you ladies who frequent Baumann's boutique could inquire of her about this ultimate, trivia subject "Harry O" devotees need to know.

It's always funny how Harry suddenly realizes something about the case he's working on and articulates it to people who have no idea, as he does here.

While it's great to see folks who either were/are familiar with David Janssens acting oeuvre and this one-of-a-kind show, the sheer number absolute morons typing seriously stupid comments (in between or after) never surprises me (i.e., Janssen is "hungover" in this scene -- he was a partier, but not when working -- nevermind the fact that Janssen is nailing his lines and the timing -- and that they're too dense to see he's clearly one of the best actor in this scene, and just about each scene of "Harry O"). Twit-wits and other social media simpletons always muck up the internet. As for the show: along with the absolutely brilliant, quirky bit about Harry only taking the bus and not using guns if can avoid them, and the brilliant acting chops of Janssen and guys like Henry Darrow and Anthony Zerbe, it was also the brain-child of Howard Rodman, whose writing chops included old TV crime shows like "Naked City" & "Route 66", and quirky crime movies like "Madigan" and "Coogan's Bluff". Finally, as to the comments about Fawcett and "Charlie's Angels": the reason this show never made it to three seasons or more, was due to formula-minded and sex & skin sells-minded producers. "Harry O" had actually gained viewers and better numbers in its second season, but the jamook producer Fred Silverman decided to cut "Harry O" and put all his money behind "Charlie's Angels" (a show that _didn't_ require much thought from the viewers).
