Walkthrough of the recently concluded HP2 PC Extended Mod, showcasing most of the changes introduced. The majority of these changes are custom and they probably don't represent the original developers' vision.
NOTE: Some things in the current mod version may differ from what is shown in the video.

This mod requires the latest version of the "Metallicafan212's Harry Potter 2 Engine & Editor" to run. Gameplay was recorded at 1920x1080 resolution, borderless fullscreen, DX9 Renderer, and VSync enabled (60 fps).
The M212 HP2 Engine/Editor not only ships with a fully-fledged editor for the game, but provides support for DirectX 11 rendering, 64-bit, (ultra) widescreen resolutions, borderless window, horizontal+ FOV, uncapped framerate, X360 controller, and more. The New Engine/Editor will keep your game's language.
The Extended Mod is fully localized in the following languages: English UK (INT) and USA, Danish, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Portugal), and Spanish. Text translations available in Polish, Russian and Ukrainian.

Timestamps of the changes: Entry Hall Hub 00:10 - Added two new lines to emphasize how differently the two friends see Lockhart (but mostly because I love this bit of dialog) Grand Staircase Hub 01:27 - Ron will no longer stand idling in Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom but will be in the classroom 01:58 - As previously pointed out, the spelltracing wand is now oriented upwards Spongify Challenge 04:29 - Lockhart statues throughout the level give out beans and recite a line for consistency with the demo levels (also at 5:25, 10:31, 11:10, 13:43) 08:53 - Fireballs now emit a fiery glow 09:08 - The green glow now disappears when the ectoplasm is removed 10:24 - Addressed the missing archway texture 10:48 - Addressed a level skip strategy 12:45 - As pointed out before, stunned spiders no longer have collision and you can run through them 13:48 - Bronze Wizard Card "Celestina Warbeck" has been moved from the chest to the adjacent secret area 14:57 - Fixed the third Spongify pad at the tower bottom not opening, leading to a softlock if Harry happens to fall down

So I have a few thoughts about these Challanges. 1) the player is very unlikely to run out of time during spell challanges. So, the developers never actually coded an event for the timer running out of time. There are unused voice lines for "time is up, you need to start over", but they go unused, and the timer just stays at zero. Would you consider adressing this? If you don't want to code a game over for running out of time, the alternative option would be to just remove the voice lines where the professors tell you "if the challange timer reaches zero, you lose the challange". 2) the ending screens of the timers (at 16:06 ) display the number of Beans, which I find redundant, since it's just the player's current beans, and not really important for "challange results". Maybe it could be possible to replace this the number of Secrets? Seeing an incomplete number of secrets could give the player more motivation to replay the challanges.

1) Yes, but I'm not rushing an update for this. It'll have to wait until either the next new engine version comes out (as I'll have to update the scripts anyway) or the next big reason to push a premature update. 2) Yes, but this absolutely needs to wait until the new engine updates.
