Yes molly is great consistently but I also found her consistently frustrating for her typical overbearing parent archetype. She didnt even want to let ron drop out of hogwarts when it was clearly corrupted and people were dying around them. She didnt want harry to be in the order thinking it was for his own benefit but really all of the information involved harry and he deserved to know, there are many more examples..
@suskihh4 жыл бұрын
Number 9 Yeah I agree. Although I think that the reason that Molly is so overbearing is because she loves people so deeply. And like we saw with the boggart her greatest fear is something bad happening to her family. I guess I just relate to her because I tend to worry quite a bit too. And I always saw that she didn’t want Ron to drop out because people would target the Weasleys who were already ’blood traitors’. But I think it’s great that her character has flaws because that makes her feel like a real person. I just admire her instant reaction to love Harry and Hermione so much. Now that I’ve thought about it, the only things I disliked most about Molly was how she was so cold to Hermione about Rita Skeeter’s article and the way that she treats Fleur in the half blood prince. But still she’s one of my favorite characters!

I always thought the reason Luna’s new wand worked was because it was made for her. I’m guessing that Ollivander knows Luna’s personality, and from there, chose a wand wood and core.
@harshvardhan9904 жыл бұрын
Yeah, wand materials are supposed to compliment a person's personality, which is why wizards go through many wands while they're buying one because a wand that likes a hotheaded noble person wouldn't pick some laid back guy. Ollivander had the advantage of being together with Luna for a good amount of time, and profiling her traits very well and that probably made it far easier for him to custom-make a wand with the exact materials which would suit her. This isn't possible as a shopkeeper because Ollivander cannot know some random person's deep nature, which is why he has pre-made wands for those scenarios.

The movies also pretty much did away with the concept of Voldemort as a man who became something "greater" because he was utterly terrified of death and was looking to outrun it, so with the characterization of film!Voldy as more of a run-of-the-mill big bad, a mundane death wouldn't hit the same. 19:42 I think the reason Dumbledore told them not to tell anyone else is because he didn't want other people to possibly give that information to Voldemort or have the information brought out of them via torture. Basically, I think his reasoning was that the fewer people know about it, the smaller the chance that Voldemort will find out that people know about his Horcruxes and thus increase the magical protection around them.
@sakkenakke4 жыл бұрын
Actually, Harry didn't overcome the whole entrusting people thing by telling Neville about Nagini. He didn't even give any reasoning behind it to Neville, except for that it was very important. Harry's whole thought process was that he reasoned Dumbledore thinking that there should be three people sharing the secret to make sure it didn't die with someone, and since he was walking to his death, he should make sure he passes on his burden to another in order to maintain Dumbledore's pattern and plan.

He's got a huge snake... Calls it Nagini..." "I've heard, yeah... What about it?" "It's got to be killed. Ron and Hermione know that, but just in case they--" The awfulness of that possibility smothered him for a moment, made it impossible to keep talking. But he pulled himself together again: This was crucial, he must be like Dumbledore, keep a cool head, make sure there were backups, others to carry on. Dumbledore had died knowing that three people still knew about the Horcruxes; now Neville would take Harry's place. There would still be three in the secret. "Just in case they're-- busy. Wow I saw Harry telling Neville to kill Nagini as the complete opposite. Why didn't Snape try to defend himself vs Nagini as he was a talented wizard? A. Dumbledore was such a Machiavellian string puller. Hogwarts students really are sorted too soon. Albus very much should have been sorted into Slytherin.

Can I just say that after Harry “died” and Dumbledore showed up and “spread his arms wide” I wanted Harry to just run to Dumbledore and hug him like he was his grandfather or something. Every time I read this part I want it to happen so bad, I want them both to cry and hug each other because they both meant so much to each other and just.... gah! It would’ve brought me to tears. When I compare the finale of the book and film between Harry and Voldermort, I much prefer the book because it's the depth of Harry's understanding that really triumphs. That's what's shown in that confrontational dialogue they have just before the final duel. You talked about Dumble's schooling of Harry in Voldie's history in the previous book. The finale in the book the culmination of that.

I agree that Voldemort's death is better done in the film. It's much more dramatic and cathartic, and feels like a strong payoff to the saga. In the book, that scene is very talky, and then the duel itself is quick and even a little confusing on a first read.

Did he really? I feel like he did the same thing, he only gave Neville enough information to make sure the plan could go on cause he thought he was gonna die. He didn't tell anybody what he was planning and he didn't really explain why or how the snake had to be killed. The fact that neville managed to kill it with the Gryffindor sword it's just pure luck.

True, but with it being the last Horcrux, kill Nagini before trying to kill Voldemort was the only relevant information needed.
@dylangimenezfritman58554 жыл бұрын
@@willigagbob8243 no, with nagini being a horrocrux you supposedly needed a special way of killing it a.k.a basilisc venom (i know there's a couple more but that's the most used one on the books) and neville uses the sword of griffyndor which happens to be the right move but harry didn't tell him that. so if neville had tried killing it some other way it wouldn't have worked.

Great review! Harry only told Neville because he believed he was going to die and wanted someone else to have the knowledge just like Dumbledore did with him. I always thought that Dumbledore didn’t want the knowledge about the horcruxes to be known to more than Harry Ron and Hermione is because it it very sensitive information. The people in the Order are trustworthy but you have to take into account torture and legilimancy. Voldemort was watching the Order members and didn’t think that Harry was capable of discovering his secret. Basically the fewer people who knew the less chance Voldy would suspect anything and double his defenses.

I love dh because of the scenes where Harry seems to truly grasp all that he could have had with his family. He finds his mother's letter, and it becomes one of his most treasured objects. He keeps it with him in the mokeskin pouch at all times. He finds out they had a cat (possibly Crookshanks??), and that Sirius had given him his first (& last) broomstick. Then later he visits his old home, finds the statue and his house and just needs to simply touch a part of the home he never had but always deserved. And the people who graffitied the sign was SUCH a beautiful little addition too. It's those quieter scenes of loss that make me the saddest. Yes, Dobby, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Mad-Eye, hell even Ted Tonks's deaths are all gut-wrenchingly sad, but Harry realizing he didn't get the childhood he should have had, realizing that he was and is loved and actually seeing proof of the lives that were lost that night are just so. sad. He's always being told that his mother loved him so much that she died for him when she didn't have to, but I think these small moments are when he fully grasps that Lily wasn't just a mother who died for her son. she was a human who lived and loved, and Harry finally feels that loss.

I really appreciated your bit about Dumbledore. A lot of reviewers or simply people who consume media, they expect characters to just, do things perfectly all the time. If a character makes a mistake a lot of people point that out as a plot hole. Which makes sense sometimes, if say the solution is really obvious and there's no reason the character wouldn't do it. But as you say, the mistakes Dumbledore make are in character mistakes based on his personal flaws, and it infuriates me when some people don't get stuff like that in a book or a movie.

Such a great review, as always. I just assumed that there were more charms that would have activated if Snape showed up at Grimmauld Place or that the effects would be much worse for him. Harry didn't want Kreacher to be in danger. He didn't even want Ron and Hermione to go with him. He may be an idiot but he's a noble one. Deceiving Voldemort isn't easy. If Dumbledore had told Harry more Voldemort might have learned about it because of their telepathic link. Harry just thought Ron was being superstitious about the name thing, not realizing the actual danger and even Ron uses Voldemort's name at first in the book.

It’s was regulus black, not aberforth that sent kreacher out with Voldemort but summoned him back as soon as Voldemort left the cave while kreacher lay there in absolute agony after drinking the potion to test if it worked and to fit the locket in the basin. This is a huge point, regulus was thought to be killed serving the dark lord In OOTP but when In actual fact he returned to the cave to drink that potion himself and allow kreacher this time to take the locket and destroy it once and for all - regulus died to inferi by being dragged into the lake unable to help himself sacrificing himself for kreacher as well as an attempt to stop Voldemort. Kreacher specifically yells In the final battle “for my master regulus!” While wearing the non horcrux locket that Harry gifted him in grimauld place.

I teared up a little watching this video because you talked about the love hagrid has for harry, as Hagrid is one of my favorite characters from the saga. I think the main trio in a way were amongst the few people who really treated Hagrid with the respect he deserved, like Dumbledore and some in the Order. My headcannon is: They probably were also the first to do so without having to take Dumbledore's trust in Hagrid into consideration. That probably means a lot to Hagrid too. Hagrid is (ironically) belittled many times in the series, treated like a savage, incompetent or even worse and then this kid, Harry, who is the son of his late friends, is so open to Hagrid. And then he bring friends along, who visit Hagrid all the time and make him feel SO less lonely and so more cherished in the Hogwarts grounds... I mean... Argh I love Hagrid so much, I just wanna hug him.
