After Prisoner of Azkaban, I was hoping that Goblet of Fire will be a huge success. Third game was absolutely amazing. Goblet of Fire game had a potential but it was wasted on this. I played this game. I wasn't happy. A lot of people hate this game for the good reason. I loved 5th game.

We weren't eased into this new UI AT ALL. Like we started off in a SUPER high-stakes environment, casting spells we never learned along with mechanics we never learned, + minimal direction. This game was a mess 😂 We weren't immersed in the world at all. Everything was a cut scene. The navigation from the pensive was also weird...why could we no longer explore the world or castle? I remember abandoning this game multiple times because it was too hard to finish.

I seem to remember getting stuck right at 4:07:44, where cedric is stuck in the vines. But those boss creatures never appeared. Me and my brother would just try walk up to him and try to free him and nothing would happen so we would restart the level, only for the same thing to happen again. We had a feeling either we were missing something or the game was broken, turns out the latter was correct. Something happened that prevented those bushes from coming down and the bosses spawning. So sad we were so close to finishing the game but that game breaking bug stopped us ! :( But glad to find out over 15 years later that it wasnt our fault haha :) I must've been like 8 years old but I still remember this very clearly

I personally don't hate this game at all. Yes, it's VERY different to the previous ones, but I liked it enough when it came out and played it a lot. I still have it installed on my PC tbh along with all the others. The one thing that have always bugged me about it though is casting spells. It was a nightmare sometimes! You had a separate key for Accio, which was nice, but that's it - other then that there were only two keys - charm and jinx, but you had no idea which spells they are going to use in a battle... at least I never figured it out as far as I can remember...

Yeah, this nostalgia hit me pretty hard. I remember playing this with my little brother on the Xbox when it came out, getting into fights over where to walk with the characters haha. Still the multiplayer experience was a nice. The following two games where better from what I remember, with a really nice open world.

There are several combinations to make of jinxes, charms, and stuns in order to establish which spell is cast when you jinx an enemy. You can jinx an enemy straight up to cast a basic jinx, you can jinx it while it's charmed for a second type of jinx spell, you can jinx it while it's stunned for a third type of jinx spell, and you jinx it when it's both charmed and stunned for a fourth type of jinx spell. Each an enemy was susceptible to a specific charm. Once you defeated a certain kind of creature using each of the four different jinxes, you'd unlock their creature wizard card. You could equip that like other wizard cards, for bonuses against that specific creature. For example, at dugbogs you can cast basic jinxes which will defeat it with the finishing jinx turning into an orchideous spell, casting wingardium leviosa at it first turns your jinxes into the orbis spell, and stunning it with jinxes and then casting wingardium leviosa on it turns your jinxes into the avifors spell. You can also defeat most creatures by hitting them with large rocks or boulders.

Probably the worst HP game. When I was 7, I literally cried dozens of times, trying to reach those damn shields scattered around the map, and sometimes I just couldn't do anything better than pulling the giant cube in my desperate attempt to reach the unreachable collectibles - it actually helped me to get one of the shields hanging in the air. Omg it was such a pain in the ass, and after I got all my nerve cells totally destroyed, I managed to collect enough shields to open the 2nd trial (water level, if I'm not mistaken). Then I figured out that I had to collect 11 (sic!) more shields to open the maze level. I immediately deleted this piece of crap, cause I just refused to believe this was happening to me. You know, once the Devil asked the God to let him create the ultimate abomination ever. And he created this game.

This was one of my favourite games as a kid, but it's undeniable that the ps1 games were better! If the ps1 games didn't freeze constantly due to scratches on the disks I'd probably have skipped this game.

It is a shame after first 3 games, how EA couldn't offer open map for discovering the HP universe despite the numerous changes in gaming technology and graphics. This one was so boring so I didn't bother myself for playing the ones which came later.

I paid fucking £39.99 for this on Xbox (50€, 70 USD, 80 AUD). An xbox original game for that much just hurts me nowadays. I got so much gameplay out of it though, every second of this is nostalgic. Some challenges were so hard. I thought this was so dark and modern and what all future games were going to be like.
