I agree, but it’s a movie so a lot of things kept getting dropped to condense the plot. While the films are great, a television series would likely do all the plot points and progression of the books better justice, imo. It's funny how in the movie the dragon does the exact opposite of what it does in the books: In the movie it broke its chains and went after Harry, in the books Harry struggled because the Dragon didn't want to move away from its eggs (becasue there were real eggs and one golden egg) and Harry had to keep baiting it to extend its neck to try to grab the broom and dove under it to grab the egg, and he got hit by its tail

Lots of people don’t pick up on the purpose of the Yule Ball. They have the dance to figure out who the Champions value most so they’ll know what “treasure” to “steal”. The thinking is that the Champions will ask the person they love to the Ball. That was the case for Krum & Cedric but not Harry or Fleur. The organizers of the tournament watched them & realized the person they value most were the best friend & the little sister.

However the books portrayed their friendship, in the movies.....they had chemistry, looked out for one another and always were affectionate and considerate with one another. Ron's portrayal was like some privileged born pure blood wizard who was just lazy and made no effort to be brilliant at anything, yet felt entitled to get the spotlight of attention. In the movies, he was antagonizing to Hermione and didn't seem sincere or affectionate. His angsty teen ego is bigger than his I.Q. in this movie, and very annoying. I agree with J.K. Rowling on what she said about seeing her mistake with pairing them together in the books. It should have been Harry and Hermione together. For me, their was much more of a build up to them becoming endgame than her and Ron. But that's my feeling about it.

I love how the Tongue Lick that Barty Crouch Junior did was actually Improvised by David Tennant. He wanted to give a Red Herring in the Movie so he asked the Movie Producers about the Tongue Lick, and they liked it, and Brendan Gleeson who played Mad-Eye Moody also liked the Idea that he put it in his Performance, and that's how his Father realized it was him, his son had to kill him to stop him from exposing the plan. It was such a great little detail. There were so many hints to the twist which were so expertly done, like the screaming from the trunk, the multiple Polyjuice Potion hints from Myrtle and Snape, and the Tongue Lick. Another Fun Fact though is that they heavily considered making this the first Potter Movie to be called "Part 1" and "Part 2" As the book is like the 2nd Longest in the series, and they had to cut so much out to fit it in the screentime that they were allowed. But they did that for Deathly Hallows, which incidentally, is the first novel that was adapted to screen but in 2 Parts. It was followed by the final Hunger Games Book and the final Twilight Book to be split into 2-Part Movies.

31:05 The books explain this better but the reason why Harry was able to fight Voldemort in that scene was because their wands have twin phoenix feather cores from the same phoenix (Fawkes) and when twin core wands are used to fight each other they will not work properly. The thing where all the dead people came from Voldemorts wand was called priori incantatem. It's a very rare effect that happens when the twin core wands fight each other. One of the wands will force the other to regurgitate spells it has performed in reverse. The most recent first and then those which preceded it.

The bonding between the wands at the cemetery is called Priori Incantatem, is not caused by the spells but by the bonding between the wizard's wands. Harry's and Voldemort' are "sisters " their core are made from the same element (the feathers of the same Fenix) so it causes this effect. Because they're sisters, the wands refuses to go against each other (yes, wands in HP have kind of a mind of their own).

One thing I wish they found time to bring in is the Burrow. We get some great scenes with the Weasley Family in the book. On e of my favorites being the argument. Molly (Mrs. Weasly) finds out the twins are experimenting with magic candies that prank the person who eat them. She deems them dangerous and keeps arguing with the twins, trying to destroy the treats. After the attack at the World Cup, you see how grief stricken Molly can be at the mere thought of any of her family being in danger. She is very emotional and a natural pessimist at these times. It's scenes like that, that made Molly one of the absolute best supporting characters in the series, in the novels. Edit: I forgot to add the details. Molly hears about the attack on wizard news, but is unaware of her families status, having to rely on a magic clock she owns that tells her if her family is in danger. When the group arrives home, she is sobbing over all of them, but especially the twins. The argument she was having meant the last thing she said to them was mean, which had filled her with regret and she was absolutely torn at the idea that her final words to her sons may have been negative.

Also, there was a side plot about how Fred and George gambled their savings at the World Cup, to a dude named Ludo Bagman (who also a major character in the book, removed in the movie, as he was one of the judges during the tournament.), but ended up giving them leprechaun gold, which vanishes after a couple of days. Batman attempted to pay them back by placing a bet on Harry winning the tournament, but lost that as well since technically, the win was a tie for Harry and Cedric. Harry in the end decided to give up his 1000 Galleon (gold coins) prize to the twins for free. The two were together later use that money to build their joke shop.

A. The incantation for the Killing Curse was meant to sound like Abra Cadabra to imply that when Muggle magicians use it, it's a subconscious memory of the Killing Curse when used on Muggles. B. If you may recall, Harry and Voldemort's wands have the exact same core - the same Phoenix tail feather from Fawkes. Thus the wands are what are matched, not the spells being used. C. Amos Diggory and King Theoden of Rohan make us all cry over their grief for losing their sons.

remember what ollivander told harry in the first film? ''It is curious that this wand chose you as its brother gave you that scar". harry and voldemort's wands share a twin core, a phoenix feather from fawkes. when both wands share the same core and go against each other, this phenomenon known as priori incantatem, a dome like cage thingy forms, causing spells to regurgitate from the losing wand since the last time voldemort used his wand apart from cedric's slaughter was killing lily and james, their 'spirits' (not exactly ghosts) emerge

Not sure if there's a comment below explaining this but the book tells you that there is no spell that can counter or block the killing curse. It is one of the reasons it is so unforgivable, besides the fact that it kills. The only reason Harry's wand was able to is because his and Voldemort's wands are "brothers" and therefore they refuse to be used against each other. The book explains what the reaction is called but I can't remember. When the two spells met up Harry had the advantage so it caused Voldemort's wand to sort of replicate the last spell the wand used, which was the killing curse. That caused echos of the people he used that curse on to appear. You can also hear Fawkes (Dumbledore 's phoenix) calling in the background because the two tail feathers came from him. Also, don't feel bad about being confused, the movies did their best to explain but there's only so much you can fit into 1-2 hours of film time.

So, normally the comment section is filled with those when I watch the reaction, but today i guess i’m soon for some neat curiosities that were left out of the film. 1 - House-elves work in the kitchens of Hogwarts, and Dumbledore pays Dobby to work there as well. He is the one that helps Harry with the gillyweed, not Neville. 2 - Since we’re on the house-elves subject, Winky is Barty Crouch’s elf and she is a very important character that was completely cut out. Here’s what happened: Barty Crouch Jr was arrested for being a death eater and torturing Neville’s parents, then years later his mother started getting sick, and her last wish was for Barty Crouch Senior to get their son out of Azkaban. The dementors can only sense people’s presence, but they cannot distinguish them, so when Barty Crouch Senior went to Azkaban with his sick wife and left with his tormented son, the dementors didn’t realize that the mother traded places with the son. She died right after, and was berried in Azkaban as Barty Crouch Jr stayed under a spell in his father’s guard. Winky took care of him since then, and she convinced Barty Crouch Senior to allow his son to go to the Quidditch World Cup. They used an invisibility cloak to hide him, but when the attack started he managed to break out from the spell and runaway from her. He was not a part of the terrorist attack, instead he was furious at those death eaters because they denied ever working for Voldemort and betrayed him in exchange for freedom, therefore he casted the dark mark to scare them off. After this, he went off to find Voldemort and then everything happened according to the movie. Winky was fired and started living in Hogwarts kitchen with Dobby and the other elves, and she was very depressed throughout the whole book. 3 - Hermione became sympathetic towards the house-elves reality, and started her own movement to free them and bring them to better conditions. I personally don’t like the narrative of having an entire species that likes to be enslaved, or depicting Hermione as their “wizard savior”, but it’s still a fun fact. 4 - Rita Skeeter is an awful person and she ruined Hermione Granger’s reputation. Hermione later found out Rita was an unregistered animagus (a beetle) and that’s how she used to get information for her stories. So at the end of the year, Hermione trapped her - in her animagus form - in a jar and threatened to report her to the Ministry of Magic if she kept publishing her pretentious stories about the trio. I love your channel and I hope you’ve enjoyed the fun facts 🥰

I love The Goblet of Fire, one of my favorite Harry Potter's movie! These girls from the other school are part human and part "veela", some kind of magical creature with huge power of seduction - or something like that - that's why all of the boys were so amazed by them when they made their entrance into the Great Hall. I'm reading the books again, I don't remember everything, but I believe that's the reason the boys "loved" them so much.

Heya Ange! So fun fact. I took drama in High School, and of course, a lot of the students and even the teacher, were Potterheads. I had seen these movies once, and was pretty interested as well, so when our Drama teacher announced we'd be having a Yule Ball like in the movie, everyone went crazy. So the night of the Yule Ball, he separated us into the houses he thought best for us, and I ended up in Gryffindor, though now after taking the test on Pottermore years later, I'm a Slytherin. Point is, that year of high school, my freshman year, was super fun because of that Yule Ball. It was all because we had so many fans, and they came together to help the teacher put everything together. This movie is definitely my favorite, as well as Order of the Phoenix. Love ya Ange, even though we don't know each other! Keep up the great work!
