I beat this game like 15 times as a kid. You can tell they put a lot of effort into it and really knew the platform they were working with, the graphics and audio are great, they even managed to pull off pseudo Mode-7 and 3D-like effects. Unfortunately you can also tell they ran out of development time towards the end, like how the sliding ice puzzles can be completely circumvented by just changing direction mid-slide or by the game's general short length. It would've probably been an even better game if the devs hadn't been on a deadline to coincide with the movie's release, but what is there is certainly good regardless. A far cry from the later games, like Deathly Hallows. Shudder.
@LongplayUniverse3 жыл бұрын
Yeah this game was fantastic. I think they ran out of development time as well, with a movie coming out every 1-2years they just didn't have enough time for RPG's so they switched it after this one. It is interesting that the game came out in May and the movie November though so I see what you're saying, I didn't know that and had to research. LOL yeah, Deathly Hallows Part 1 was soooooo rushed, no music, very unpolished. I am working on Deathly Hallows Part 2 right now and it is much better than that one. Thanks for watching and leaving an awesome comment! :D
@specssmish3 жыл бұрын
@@LongplayUniverse actually the release of the movie was supposed to also happen in May, it just got delayed, which makes this even more ironic. But I'm assuming the game already went gold at that point and they couldn't go back, so they just released what they had. I'll be looking forward to your playthtough of DH Part 2. Counting on you to also cover the new RPG whenever that is coming out. 😎

Jeez, I remember the Werewolf fight from back then, good idea on paper, but executed horribly. They should've either given Lupin less HP or allowed your spells to at least do SOME damage instead of being completely ineffective, there's no logical reason why he should be immune to all magic other than making a gimmick fight that overstays its welcome. The previous game did it better with Fawkes as a guest character helping you out during one battle, but it didn't leave you a sitting duck chugging potions and casting Fumos over and over.
