The fun when you read a Harry Potter's book , is that is built like crime and investigate - police mystery down by the cloak of magic ! Very unique procession . J. K. Rowling is genious , not unique , the horcruxes that were in both books 6 and 7 were part of the Lord of the Rings first ! Tolkin was a great inspiration for all writers! I' m a Rovenna Ravenclaw 's house guy ! Sir Richard Harris was an exceptional Albus Dumbledore , for the first 2 films of course, because he died and Michael Gabon took his place from 3rd film and on ! RIP , Sir Richard ! A great veteran actor ! The chess game in dungeons was a legit momment ! From chess playing view of course! Ron is a professional chess playmaker ! The partide opened with a Sicillian deffence and Ron made his magic ! Loved that!

The original title was Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone, but it was felt the word "Philospher's" would confuse or turn off potential audience members in the US, hence "'Sorcerer's Stone." ... There's a good reason Harry goes back to his cousins every year, but you'll have to wait a few books to find out. Just know there's a reason. :)

It was done for the books of course so the movies had to follow suit either way. I suspect it was thought a philosopher was more boring than a sorcerer. At least it had its correct title where I live, and after the success of book 1 there was never felt to be a need to change the title for any other books. A philosopher's stone has meaning in myth from before Harry Potter, but they felt the need to change it anyway.

The first thing Snape asks Harry is “Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?” According to Victorian Flower Language, asphodel is a type of lily meaning ‘My regrets follow you to the grave’ and wormwood means ‘absence’ and also typically symbolized bitter sorrow. If you combined that, it meant ‘I bitterly regret Lily’s death’.

It's all most 12:30 am. Can't sleep. Fell while doing yard work for a friend $10hr. When I landed I landed on a thick branch knee first then the rest of the shin. Most likely it's going to bruised some but I can still walk on it. I've been out of my pain medication for 3 months not to mention my diabetic minutes and my blood pressure medicine. Hey, Homies. I really loved this movie a whole lot for my birthday. I thought it was surprisingly magical. The acting, visual effects, costumes, and performance were great. Although, it may be too scary or frightened. Anyway, it was a terrific achievement, as it adapts its source material faithfully, while condensing the novel's overstuffed narrative into an involving and often downright exciting. A strongly recommendation for me on "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", and Happy 20th Anniversary! Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) 4/4 👍👍👍👍
