The mirror of erised ornament is actually a photo-frame that you can put any picture it and hang it on your tree if you want.

It's interesting that it's almost identical to the Friends advent calender! Definitely must be the same company as the design is the same. I have the Friends one to my sister a couple of years ago. It was the same: tags, bookmark, keyring, postcards, a Thanksgiving recipe book, a facts book, colouring book and a door hanging too.

I came here to say the same thing after watching the friends one unboxed it must be the same company. I was gobsmacked at how much it cost for the friends one and sad that this one appears to be more expensive! I didn’t think they did just one sticker and one clip on a day in that either? When I saw the design and name I worried it would be the same thing and then when she opened day one my heart just dropped for her. I mean honestly, Christmas Eve? That’s something you could google and print off in under 5 minutes…

I think the best thing in this calendar was a moving post card (or just a card) with flying Harry Potter. It really looks like magic photos in Hogwarts. I really want something like this for my Hogwarts diorama.

i love the tiny replicas and the teeny tiny books and cards with interesting info, i also like that if it's house themed, you get all the houses in one day and that no house is left out. also it's not too expensive and we all love cute collectible stationary products, don't we?

Quite a nice little advent calendar. I do love when they have 25 doors, and I do appreciate it when there's more than one thing in each when they're very simple & cheap things (like the Patronus cards, they'd have been disappointing with only 1 a day). However, I think there're little improvements that could have been made and it shouldn't effect the price. Idk if the paper & cardt heme was a financial decision (more profit from cheaper made paper products) or an ecological one, I choose tobelieve the latter because I just like to think the best of people, but also I'm well aware it could have been the former. While I love that it's paper/card so it can be recycled, it seems far too pretty for me that it'd be a shame to just chuck it in the recycling after Xmas. So, what I would have loved to see is, rather than having the flaps stuck down with glue & risking ripping - it as happened - using those twine closures, and it would then have been reusable for further christmases (I guess they then assume people would be less likely to buy the next year & so making it less beneficial for the makers... but I would guess it's better for the planet over all, if they're trying to be more eco-mindful that is). I loved the little colouring book, it had a lot more in it than I first expected for it's size; the wooden tree ornament (would have loved another couple of those or just an entire calendar of them lol), so simple yet so perfect for what it needs to be, and if you want to personalise it then you can; the Hedwig keyring was very cute (though I would have preferred that be wood too if we're sticking on a theme), was it day 25 worthy?; the little info books that could also be tree ornaments were a nice little idea and after being on the tree can then be kept if they survive nosy people pulling them off the tree to read 😆, though it would have been nice if they had a slightly thicker cover/binding but maybe that would make them too heavy for the tree branch; the paper replica of the acceptance letter & items list (I felt they belonged together but that's neither here nor there) and the map were nice touches, they would go great in like a little collectors scrap book type thing; and finally, the little Patronus cards were pretty too. Some niggles though: I would have liked more things that were a little more robust too, for example along the lines of the wooden tree decoration, and if those four round card pieces are coasters I would rather have had 1 proper solid one (eg made of wood with a felt base) that would last many uses rather than 4 card ones that won't last even one use (heck, they could have had 4 vinyl ones or something even, though vinyl is less ecological). I do wish they wouldn't just give only one of certain things, eg the paper clip and magnetic book mark, they could easily have had 2 or 3 on a little piece of card, and on that similar line of thinking all stickers could have been all on one day, freeing up two days for something else like temp tattoos and maybe a pencil or ruler. Re the mirror...If they weren't going to use foil to imitate a mirror (I feel that would have been firmly cheap) they could have included a couple of double-sided lenticular picture cards to fit it (like a candid pic of the golden trio being friends, Harry with his parents, or holding the stone, etc) and then a sticky film that could be removed on one side of the window to allow you to stick your choice of pic to it to imitate what you might see in the real mirror of Erised. Oh, the Christmas cards were a cute touch, though I think they could have done with being one of the first days, and I don't understand having 5 cards but no envelopes, and only 2 gift tags, seems to me there should have been 5 of each. The 4 round card tree decs were a nice idea, and if you want to be able to reuse them without risking them getting damaged fairly quickly you could maybe get them laminated (some shiny foiling might have been cool on them or some eco-glitter too, but 🤷), idk why the calender makers didn't do that. Like I said, over all it's not a bad little calendar, i like the idea of being as recyclable as possible but I feel like the kind of people who love these calendars aren't the sort of people who throw stuff away after one use, we like to collect and for things to last as well as looking as good as they can, so the disposable nature of things like the paper coasters and tree decs would be disappointing...I prefer reusable over recycling. So yeah, having things that are more robust and therefore lasting & reusable year after year would have greatly improved it.

I looked at that Advent calendar and I thought craft supplies. Like those coasters I would resin them into something more durable. Maybe use the acceptance letter, school shopping list and train ticket and use those decoupaged on a desk and make sure it had a really good clear hard top. Maybe do another resin pour so it would last until I was Dumbledore's age.

If I were to read design this I’d do it as 24 days of the following (not necessarily in this order)- 1 yule ball invite (foiled), 2 lenticular chocolate frog card, 3 knight bus ticket (foiled), 4 the four champions name papers from goblet, 5 lightening bolt paper clips, 6 Hogwarts express ticket (foiled), Hogwarts expectance letter full size with the supplies letter & wax seal, 7 Hogwarts iron on patch, 8 sticky notes in the shape of a golden snitch, 9 Ron’s howler, 10 photo Harry has of the original DA Sirius gives Harry, 11 the four house crests as stickers for people to colour in themselves, 12 button badge of potter stinks, 13 SPEW button badge, 14 quidditch World Cup ticket, 15 Sirius wanted poster fridge magnet, 16 Harry wanted poster fridge magnet, 17 I must not tell lies temporary tattoo (to put on your hand), 18 lightening bolt temporary tattoo (to put on forehead), 19 dark mark temporary tattoo to put on wrist, 20 flying key keyring, 21 as included notebook, 22 as included magnetic bookmark, 23 as included wooded tree decoration, 24 as included mirror of erised photo frame.

I have many ideas on different things to design but no idea on how to make them unfortunately. If I has someone to help then maybe I could make the items but I have no idea how to. I even started writing a book at one point but have no idea on editing or publishing. I have slight autism so I can do the design side but the next part I struggle with.

Not a big fan of paper replicas, but this was cute. They're on to something with the spell cards As for those things that could be coasters, you could turn them into useable coasters. Just get cork coaster blanks from a craft store, glue them on, then put a few layers of Mod Podge on top as a sealant

I don’t know how I feel about this one 🤔 on one hand I think there’s some cute little replicas and things but from a practical standpoint I feel like a lot of this would end up in the trash. 😬 Like the door hanger is a fun idea but not cute enough to keep around as decor and I’m not going to actually use it. The colouring book though cute looks like the details would be so small it would be difficult to colour? I immediately thought coasters on the rounds as well so wrecked in one real use? At least it’s fun to open I suppose 🤷🏻‍♀️
