I believe I'm between a Gryffindor and a Slytherin. I'm not afraid to take risks if the reward is worth it.

Oh well, from what the books say directly, it seems that his uncle just absolutely hates anything strange or difference - he is a basic bigot through and through. Petunia, on the other hand, had been thrilled when her sister's letter came, and she wanted to go too - but she had no magic tallent and was told she couldn't, at which time she became very jealous and decided that it was all just a stupid thing and her sister was just weird and not something to be proud of. And after a lot of time, she got very stuck in that view because otherwise she would have to admit she was jealous.

The best thing about the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone, to me is that the chambers following the third-floor corridor containing Fluffy each play to the strengths of Harry, Ron and Hermione. The Devil's Snare chamber caters to Hermione's knowledge of spells. The room with the winged keys caters to Harry's skill with quidditch. And the chess room caters to Ron's knowledge of how to play chess. Side notes: The Sorting Hat chooses new students' houses based on their corresponding personality traits: Gryffindor-Bravery, helping others, and chivalry. Hufflepuff-Hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play. Ravenclaw-Intelligence, knowledge, and wit. Slytherin-Ambition, cunning and resourcefulness. Somewhere between the wrap of the 2nd film and the start of the 3rd, Richard Harris (Dumbledore) passed away. So from the 3rd film on there is a new Dumbledore. Both actors did a wonderful job. You talked about the great acting of the 3 young leads, and you are correct. Hard to believe that in this 1st film Emma was only 9 years old. Hope you enjoy the entire ride.

Yeah this always bothered me too, but I guess it's just a laxly enforced rule. Perhaps rats were previously a popular option - toads also don't quite fit the normal group of animals used as a familiar, so maybe rats used to be an allowed familiar animal.

It's probably just an old rule that has never been bothered to change but isn't really enforced. You see this in the real world as well with laws. One example would be that you're not allowed (I believe this was in britian) to put a postage stamp of the queen or king upside down. There's also a law in my country that says you're not allowed to hang the national flag except for on specific holidays (I particularly hate this law) but I think this is also not really enforced.

You won't find out about this in the movies or in the books, the only way you would know is if you do a deep dive on Pottermore now known as The Wizarding World. Harry's great great great great grandfather, create a potion known as Skele-Gro. And then his grandfather created sleep easy hair potion and doubled the fortune of the Potter family. Which then was eventually passed down to Harry after his father and mother passed away.

Actually actually...🤓 Voldemort only attached himself to Quirrel after he failed to rob Gringotts. He doesn't state it directly but he says something along the lines of "he wanted to keep a closer eye on me". If he had already merged with Quirrel at that point, he couldnt have been any closer.

Muggles can see them going into the platform wall. This we know cuz at the end of the book they talk about how the praying hands stood in front of the gate and allowed only a couple people through at a time, that way the Muggles won't notice. The reason why they don't necessarily see them going into the wall, is because of basically snow blindness they're so focused on what they're trying to complete that their brain doesn't fully register what they saw and so they don't even notice it. Especially when it's only a couple at a time

Ravenclaw: Brainy, original and sometimes whimsical. Take your pick. I don't know you well but my guess is either Slytherin or Ravenclaw. Your favorite color doesn't matter. Harry has the detective mindset, he just can't resist a good mystery. Voldemort/Quirrel couldn't touch Harry because of some really old blood magic: his mothers sacrifice to save him. Its also why he has to stay at his aunt and uncle during the school holiday, his aunt is the only surviving blood relative. As explained in book 6 which I'm currently reading.

Collette, seeing you in this reaction, I would probably (if I were the Sorting Hat) have put you in Ravenclaw. Ravenclaw's motto is: "Wisdom beyond measure is man's greatest treasure." Also, the password to the Ravenclaw common room isn't a password or passphrase, like it is in Gryffindor. Rather, the wood knocker (on the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room) asks you a question when you knock. You are required to give a reasoned answer. If you don't, you must wait for someone to give a reasoned answer. That way, you learn.

I swear, most Harry Potter fans I looked at and I have met in person have been impersonating the characters and recreated some of the best scenes ever, including my favorite, the big chessboard scene. Also, I’m Hufflepuff.

The first couple movies are a little childish but it gets real dark real soon but one thing never changes...these movies have a lot of heart. Also, they're pretty entertaining.

This was better explored in the book, but Harry and Ron didn’t even like Hermione at the beginning. They even avoided her and thought she was a bit stuck up. They only became friends about half way in the book after they save her from the troll and she stood up for them.

You should watch Die Hard (1988) for Snape's sake. If you like magical creatures watch Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them (2016). He who should not be named was not in Gryffindor. The reason you don't say his name which I don't think is actually mentioned in the movies is he had a spell or something attached to his name so he'd know who and where the person that spoke his name to send people to kill them.

19:39 Sorry to burst your bubble but Mr Snape is one of many actors after this film (some years later) who passed away along with Hagrid, Prof. Dumboldore, and replacements as well as the extras playing students etc. Some of babies and young student actors that were used are nameless who weren't even added to cast list, RIP TO ALL WHO LOST THEIR LIVES.

Interesting fact James Potter (Harry's father) technically didn't lose to Voldemort, when he took Harry's mother and baby Harry upstairs he realized he left his wand downstairs and quickly went back to get it, but when he came down the stairs he was immediately killed by Voldemort with no way to defend himself, plus James and Lily were both members of the Order of the Phoenix, and together defied Voldemort at least three times in the past.

Colette, it's not Professor Snape you fell for, it's Alan Rickman. One of the greatest actors of all time. He is sorely missed.
