It reminds me a lot of Rocket League, easy to play, difficult to master. I told myself up until release I wasn’t going to get it because the trailers just looked dreadful to me, but I ended up getting it anyway and extremely pleased I did. The game is just so much fun. It’s one that has a friendly entry level and I imagine an extremely high ceiling cap, and it’s been perfect for when I just haven’t got it in me to invest in a more story driven game and just want to jump in and have fun

The game is really fun but is missing a lot to make it more immersive and enjoyable. Here’s my list: - Crowd/ character reactions after goals. Maybe a replay camera and could include some highlights of the game. I know it’s Harry Potter but this is a sports game and should have some of those elements. An impact cam after getting hit with a bludger would be cool. Maybe mixed in with the highlights at the end of each match. - the music in game isn’t working for me on PS5. Would love some dynamic music that maybe builds with the tension of the match/ going after the snitch. - More announcer voices and a broader range of announcer dialogue would help as well. - a command wheel or something of the sort to give team orders or to create play types. Again I understand this is harry potter but for the sports enthusiasts, this would be a great addition. Even simple commands would be cool. Maybe have different play types to up the aggression, or focus more on scoring or beating etc.. - a snitch replay cam would be cool too. - dynamic weather elements effecting players would be cool. Maybe a lightning strike every so often with the option to quickly evade. - custom team creations and more arenas are needed as well. There’s just a lot more I know they could add. I feel like they played it too safe, but it’s still fun to me.

@James-ju4gj Yeah I've got the new one they made it free on PS+ on release it's fun the online aspects cool most people kinda suck right now the offline modes "Story" if you wanna call it that is basically just a couple tournaments so it's short the games cosmetics so far in the market have been completely free to earn which is nice all in all if you enjoyed the old game you'll get some fun outta this one but I would say the original was slightly better but that could be nostalgia playing it's part

i really wish they brought back how the seeker played in harry potter quidditch world cup. you were able to fly outside of the stadium to chase the snitch, accurate to how a real quidditch game would go. i just feel so inclosed playing seeker when imo you should feel like you’re flying around the entire map (to a certain degree). still fun just wish that was different.

Um OK. I am not an insane HP fan but I have read the books. I am pretty sure they drastically changed the way the snitch works. I thought it was 150 points and more importantly immediately ended the match. I guess that doesn't really work very well in a practical sense for a competitive game.

Yeah the way this game is played the snitch comes pretty quick in the match I was disappointed at first but more I think about it the matches will way to fast so 30 points seems like a ok number might have been better if it was a tiny bit more

It makes sense from a gameplay standpoint, as the snitch can appear twice a game, so an extra 30-60 points can still mean a lot. I recently saw someone playing an online match where the scores were pretty close, with the opposing team having 10 more points than them, with seconds remaining to the match, and then their seeker got the snitch, bringing them to a 20 point lead at the end of the game. Also, imagine how frustrating it would be if you were playing the best game ever, had a score of 90-0 with plenty of time remaining, and then the enemy team got the snitch because your seeker made a mistake. Now the match is over and they won 90-150. Wouldn't that be pretty frustrating?

@AzureKyle I suppose it's also meant to balance out the positions, thinking about it from a game design standpoint and not from a "they hurt my childhood dream of playing a broom game!!! 🤓🤓" standpoint. They probably don't want the seeker to be by far the most important position, and based on what I saw, catching the snitch in game would be far too easy to be worth the full 150 points. I sometimes forget when it comes to these books I read religiously as a kid that creative liberties will inevitably be taken

Had no expectations for this game, but its immediately become one of my favourites. Pretty artstyle, fun gameplay, customisation is awesome i just hope they support this game for ages! I want more cosmetics to work towards hopefully we get many seasons! Also a 5v5 where 1 chaser becomes the seeker would be ideal for pvp. Genuinely love it.

Thank you for pointing out how arbitrary the House Cup is. I had a CO in Basic who used the same sort of thing for his evaluations. Whatever your score was, he could add an extra 10% at the end to reflect his own feelings. I’m Never going to give up that grudge.

I think maybe the hunter tackle needs to be a little bit easier to complete. As the one trying to tackle it's almost impossible and also in attack its very rare that they actually manage to take away the ball from you. Sometimes i found it unnecessary to pass, bc just racing across the pitch and score on my own worked so well.

I never really understood quidditch. It’s like you put all this throwing ball though the goal, and suddenly someone from the opposing team catches the golden snitch and instantly wins. All that effort for nothing.

That’s why, for the sake of balancing a video game, they nerfed the snitch. When you catch it, it gets your team 30 points (not 150) and it doesn’t end the match. Good way of helping team who’s losing to catch up and the other one get a better lead or something

probably makes more sense when you think of it in terms of a highly competetive sport. you risk burnout if you focus too much on always getting the snitch. seekers are not a dime a dozen. multiple games a week for a whole season means being tactful and not exhausting your players. the snitch is also somewhat sentient.(the time it evaded seekers for 6 months straight lol) it could choose to reveal itself to an underdog or even to lead a problem seeker into trouble. in a high level competition, you have to pick your battles in the most literal sense. Even the champion team has to take losses.

Because it's the new game rules for this version of the game. Now the game has a set timer, the snitch is worth 30 points, not 150, and it can appear at most twice in a match. It makes more sense for a competitive multiplayer game, and the matches are typically quick enough that it still makes a difference, without completely screwing over one team's hard work due to some luck from the other team, as most matches so far don't seem to get even close to 150 points.

At least in the books and movies, there was always the possibility of being more than 150 ahead of your opponent, so them getting the Snitch wouldn't lead to an automatic victory.
