Holiday tradition for me is on Christmas eve, I take the bus to my nearest city and go round the shopping center there buying any last minute gifts and spending the whole day to myself, enjoying the peace, before the chaos of Christmas ensues. Done it for the last 10 years now and its my favourite part of the holidays 😂

My Holiday tradition is Family over Christmas Eve for dinner at my place, I make the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole. My sister brings the deviled eggs, and my dad brings the pies, usually Pumpkin pie and Apple pie. On Christmas Day, my kids open presents in the morning along with me and my husband, and we have cinnamon rolls for breakfast as well.

One holiday tradition that came from my mom - wrapping allll Christmas presents on Christmas Eve while the kids are asleep. Every year as I do it I'm like whyyy did I wait?! And yet, I continue to do it every year. Lol Another tradition is having the kids take turns opening presents. They don't just rip through them all. Youngest starts, they open one and then the next, and so on. My kids have really come to appreciate not only their gifts, but their siblings' gifts as well. Sometimes, they get distracted by what someone got, and end up talking and playing with that instead of rushing to open more. It really gets everyone talking and having fun. Opening presents takes hours instead of a few minutes.

One of our traditions is to start decorating the house from the 1st of November. Every weekend from then until Christmas. We add more decorations for the house until the whole house been transformed.

What a fun advent calendar! And you could reuse it by filling each day with a quiz question or activity challenge and have a prize set aside, or a wrapped up presents in basket to choose from for each day.

My family has brunch on Christmas. Breakfast foods and small biscuits. Everyone brings jams and jellies they’ve picked up on their travels over the year and we pass them around and try them.

The design your wand made me think of something. This can be a family activity where everyone takes out scrap paper and they design their own wands and show them to each other.

Our holiday tradition is "Gourmetten" I have no clue what the word is in English but basically, it's a cooking device that we set in the middle of the table with small little pans and the whole table is filled with little chopped-up food. And then we cook this on these little pans. So everyone has their own pans and you just make whatever you want in them. We do this every single year. There's different versions as well. there's also a tiny pizza oven thing, tiny wokking, tiny grilling. We ususally use the wok and the grill at my mom's and the normal ones at my dad's (with the pans)

I really appreciate these advent calendar videos! This advent calendar isn’t my style but it is geared toward children. I guess that makes sense because Scholastic is more of a children’s publisher. My kids would have loved this when they were younger.

My family actually don’t get together over Christmas. My brother works in a big supermarket/grocery store, I work in a hotel so we’re always busy Christmas week. We have an early Christmas over the 10th-13th where we spend a few days at my mum’s, go to Santa day, watch movies, have a roast dinner usually beef/pork, play games.. but I do prep an actual full turkey dinner Christmas Eve ready to cook Christmas Day and have my mum over and we spend Christmas afternoon with the dogs, who also get dinner. It’s the one day of the year my dog gets people food ❤

Two of my grandkids are very into my HP collection so for Christmas, I got them this calendar to open and do together, then got them each a HP tee, a baby niffler, And one of the mystery wands as gift sets. I think they will be thrilled they finally have the beginnings of their own collections.

Our Christmas tradition starts with all of our family member gather together at my grandmas house. She cooks super delicious sticky rice and all of us must bring something to the table then we all eat together at eve then the music starts story telling and just gift giving and hugging each other. And a lots of beer. 😊

My family has a lot of Christmas Traditions. Christmas eve we eat Spaghetti and watch the movie "The Night They Saved Christmas". Christmas Day we start by opening our stockings, than eat breakfast with Cinnamon Rolls and cheesey Eggs with ham, than go downstairs and open presents under the tree, and finally end the day eating pork roast for supper. I'd say my favorite thing is the cinnamon rolls because we only eat cinnamon rolls 3 times a year, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. This is definitely the perfect advent calendar for little witches and wizards. Loving advent calender week so far!

I'm from Bulgaria and in our family we celebrate more Christmas Eve. We cook all the meals all day and the tradition in our country (and I think in the Orthodox countries) is for the meals to be completely vegan and they should be 7, 9 or 11. One of the meals must be soda bread and we put in it a coin, a little branch of dogwood and a bean. A red wine is also required and before we start eating we tell a prayer and my father or mother goes around the whole house with incense. When I was little I was always waiting until midnight so I can catch Santa Claus 😀 And to this day I still wait until midnight and leave cookies, you never know, it became a tradition for our family 😀

Peter, when you opened and looked at the Mrs. Weasley's sweater coloring page, and you were listing a few random names/1st initial for customization of coloring, 1 name/letter was J/Julie. That got me to wondering if you remembered the letter/cold temperature color change cup I sent you 2 years ago. If so, I wanted to give you a short and good update on my life. I'm no longer semi-homeless, I got my son back at the beginning of the year and the case got closed on Oct 6th, and my husband bought me your 3rd keep collecting box for my birthday. Growing up, we'd celebrate Christmas Eve with my family on my mom's side and celebrate Christmas Day with my dad's side. However, this year will be a lot different since I only have 1 grandparent left as both of my grandmas and my grandpa (Dad's father) are no longer with us as well as one of my cousins who sadly passed away this July. We now open presents on Christmas Eve after going to my grandpa's (Mom's father) and relaxing at home Christmas Day.

My family’s tradition is Christmas Eve we have dinner with my dad’s side of the family. We did use to open presents but since me, my cousins and my siblings are adults and none of us have kids (except for a couple of my cousins but they don’t come over often unfortunately) we play games where we buy something and play Dirty Santa. Then there is this game where my aunt rolls up a bunch of candies and money in plastic wrap until it’s a big ball and we have to unwrap it while wearing oven mitten while also the person next to us tries to roll a double on a couple of dices. Then once that’s done, my mom, dad, brother, sister and I go home and we open our gifts that night. Christmas Day, we have lunch with my grandparents from my mom’s side. And we give them gifts, especially since Christmas is my grandma’s birthday. And since I like to bake, I usually make this dessert for my cousin and brother, cause they love it, called a fookie, which is bottom layer is chocolate chip cookie and the top layer is fudge.

When my family was all together in one city, we would all go to Kuhn's Flowers and see the amazing Christmas window displays they would create every year. They had animatronics and toys and flowers and decorations and music galore!

Lastly, My family is Italian and we celebrate on Christmas Eve with the Feast of 7 fishes but we narrowed it down to a few. My uncle makes delicious clams oregenatta ( I am butchering my culture. I am sorry to other Italians) for the appetizers along with a cheese and cracker board. Next is seafood salad. I alternate with whether I like it or not. Lobster fri diavlo is the entree. Than fruit and chestnuts. Than we open presents while eating Italian pastries. Than for Christmas Day, my mom and I get invited to the other side of our family where we have ham, apple sauce, Julia Child’s scalloped potatoes, peas and onions, forget what the exact sauce is, and a couple of people make trifles and flans. It’s fun. Before all that, this side of the family opens their presents first. They are always creative and represent some inside jokes between them. I have a tradition where I make cute stories as everyone’s cards.

Two traditions we do in our family is, my parents would take us to the store and let us pick out one present, that way you can get what you want and pretend to be surprised when you went to open it XD. The second being, the kids in our family would retell the birth of Jesus Christ before we open presents.

Peter, I think someone shuffled the things around in your calendar. If the picture on the front of each envelope is suppose to be associated to the gift inside. For example, why would a little book about Hermione be in the envelope with Ron. This was really a fun advent calendar, very cute. It was definitely aimed more for the younger witch or wizard, but like you said, an older fan would enjoy it as well.
