28:43 the cool thing about books like this is that it has some history behind it. I know a lot of people prefer it in the best condition possible but that book in particular probably helped to teach some kids how to read and you know a lot of people loved and enjoyed the book

Wow that’s amazing! Take care of that leather. It seems prone to cracking. I wonder if there is some kind of leather conditioner or something that book collectors would recommend to keep it from cracking. If I could do it over again, I’d definitely look into it.

My wife meet JK when she was in middle school and we have a copy of the first 3 books all signed. From watching this I just found out the copy of Azakaban is a 2nd edition.

If you are ever in the UK, a friend of mine has the very first Philosophers book off the press and loves to show it off. We used to work for Cooper Clays who printed the book. JK Rowling came to the factory to watch her book go into production, the first "good" copy came off the production, this gets stamped with the date and time and signed by the shift manager with the note "start up copy" to signify the book is ready for production. JK Rowling took the book and inspected it and for some reason she thought she had to sign it also and she scrawled "Joanne Rowling" on the cover. The book then goes into the archives along with books that are systematically checked, but with a short run there probably were only 2 books in the archives. Every few months we clear out our archives and this is where my friend rescued the copy. It isn't the best condition copy in the world, but still excellent order and I would bet is significant in value, but he says he will not sell it.

I have that leather bound edition, not signed of course, and not in such good condition. Where Peter’s is starting to crack, mine has cracked all the way down, completely through😢😢😢 I love it though.

I just went to The Wizarding World in Universal Florida for the first time last week. It was amazing! Even the wait cues for rides are stunning to look at all the detail. I didn’t care that it was so hot, I dressed up and it was a blast. I was even chosen at Ollivanders, which just about made my life! He picked me out an Aspen wand with a Unicorn Hair Core. So magical! I definitely want to go back, especially because I heard they’re opening a Ministry of Magic soon

He said he’s just selling books he’s ok with selling and he still has a lot of rare books that he’s keeping. I guess it’s because these books are worth a lot and that’s a lot to pass up on when you’ve still got a lot of rare books but still need money to live on 😁
