Down to earth human being...Builds a slick skiff too. It poles in tears of envy!

This podcast is so incredible. I watched Sportsmans Journal as a kid, and recently searched youtube to see if any episodes were floating around. That led me here, Im 33 now, and am enjoying fishing more than ever. I also want to do what I can to help keep the environment thriving for the future. These interviews help inform people like me to what needs to be done, as well as highlights the reasons why we love it so much, and know that fishing is a gift. Keep these coming! Please post some more sportsman journal episodes when you can as well! Thanks! -AP

This was such a great interview. These older guides (Spear, Huff, etc. ) have so much class and humility - in contrast to some of the younger guides of today.

One option is Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), which models the boat performance. Make changes on vessel geometry, etc on the computer and re-run it. Iterate. Then make the prototype and test it to confirm performance. I do this regularly.

Well done Andy, Nicky and Harry. Hopefully all these stories of the past and what's been lost environmentally will help rebuild the future.

Sure seems like the Keys need some type of management on tarpon fishing going into the future. Love hearing these guides perspectives! The Keys still are a great place!!

we moved to south Florida in 1971, there was not much going on anywhere at that time. Unfortunately, the place started blowing up not too long after those days, and now it's just like every other old secret out there, over populated and over used. Personally, I'm trying to forge a new adventure here in the western panhandle, there are still plenty of mysteries to be figured out..... this was a great chat. My wife and myself have been sniffing around Sopchoppy for a few months for property, it's old school Florida for sure. Thanks guys.

now everyone can go sniff around that secret place.. dang dude thanks for telling the secrets

@@cockman6368 lol, I think the actual podcast took care of that for ya, not the thirty seven people who read these comments. I drove through Sopchoppy often back in the 70's when I went to FSU and we would run to the beach for the weekend or to pick up a few bushels of oysters for a weekend party. It aint exactly a secret when the State Capitol drives right through there every weekend to recreate. You'll survive.
