I the fifth book Molly had to deal with a boggart and her worst fear was knowing that her loved ones were dead, Harry in her case, was dead and she got more and more scared.

synyster54 the reason why they switched Hermione and Ron’s rolls in the movies is because Emma and Rupert did better jobs at portraying the book versions. Emma does a good job at being fierce like Ron was in the books. And Rupert is hilarious when he’s acting scared. Sometimes it’s not bad when they switch a small thing around because it works better

Lots of Ron's lines were given to Hermione in the first 2 movies, but he's still brave and heroic, especially helping solve the Chamber of Secrets. The 3rd movie (the one that many Potter fans claim is the best, and constantly point to it's 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes as so called proof) made Ron into a blubbering, whining coward. They turned it around a bit starting in the 5th movie. The more I watch the movies the more I feel the trio was portrayed terribly.

For those who say ron is pointless in the trio should just watch this. Watch this and ask themselves how many friends do they have like ron. Yes, hes not very insightful, yes hes hopeless with a wand. But he has aleays been there when harry needed a friend. He is the voice of reason when harry is not able to think. Hes the arm to pull harry back when he is on the verge of emotional and physical breakdowns. Ron is the glue thats holding the trio together. With his unconditional moral support and high family values, harry and hermione would be absolutely lost without him. And thats what makes him so important.

@@AD-oy8nm The reason why Harry and Ron fought because he felt like Harry didn't care about Weasley family. In the books, Ron was worried about his family, mind you they are in constant threat. Unlike Hermione, her parents were obliviated and given a new identity in Australia that makes them harder to find. Meanwhile Harry's parents including godfather were-uh dead. That was one of the reason why the locket affected him so much. The second reason was because he had the most insecurities among the trio. Insecurities -he was the youngest of the brothers -least love doesn't mean he wasn't love but he was always the last. -he was always hiding in Harry's shadow. -he was always the last choice. -he was always be shadowed by everyone. -everything he done something new were already done by his brothers. Despite all of that Ron became a loyal friend to Harry, even if Hermione sometimes became too much.(in the books) Ron would always defend Harry and ended up a lover's quarrel. Ron even defended Hermione when Snape called her Know-it-all and when draco called her mudblood. In book 3 prisoner of Azkaban, he literally had a broken leg and was in immense pain, but he stood up against Sirius and told him "if you want get Harry, you have to get us first." The locket did indeed brought his character's out. Imagine forcing someone to pick between their family or friends in a weakened state while constantly reminding their insecurities. I say he is the most humane character in the series.

Yes, some of the writing in the movies screws up Ron's character. But it's scenes like this and especially Rupert's performance in them that make movie Ron really shine through. He's gentle, he's patient, he's understanding, he's compassionate, he's considerate, and above all he's convincing. He provides a practical realistic perspective of what it's all about that's very reasonable and yet quite comforting for Harry because it's born out of pure love, care and true wisdom. Ron is EXACTLY what Harry needs here, and that's why he's Harry's best friend. Hermione could've never convinced Harry to stay this night.

People say that Ron was not portrayed well in the movies and that he was not being brave or whatever. But if you see, he’s always there for Harry and he always go through some really scary things. In the first movie he took the L so Harry could fight Voldemort, in the second one even though was surrounded by his worst fear he stayed with Harry, I mean his rat turned out to be one of Voldemort’s followers!!. And let’s not forget that many of his family members were almost killed many times throughout he series. He’s still brave and useful and this scene shows it!!

Omg no @levi Conway I agree dude. It did not have to be so dark. I can’t physically watch it in day light cuz u can’t fricken see it and also the darker themes are sad when u compare the jollyness and magic of the first couple :((
