What about this theory? In the book Tale of Three Brothers, the veil represents Death and the bridge (referenced in the book) refers to the pathway between Life and Death. The three brothers create the hallows to safely use beyond the veil - the invisibility cloak will let the user to safely pass through the veil and navigate whatever is beyond the veil, the elder wand is the only wand powerful enough to use on the other side of the veil, and the resurrection stone is the only way to safely recall the person who entered the veil, to be brought back to our world. The three brothers were very powerful Wizards who found a way to safely go beyond the veil and also use the Deathly Hallows in our world as well.

The basilisk theory makes a lot of sense- it's via the Peverell Brothers (Cadmus, the middle brother) that Voldemort is even an heir *of* Slytherin. Given Harry's the last heir of Ignotus, the youngest, he's technically *another* heir of Slytherin that nobody talked about!

The mutual dislike between Harry and Snape impacted the occlumency lessons. Harry hated the lessons, because Snape gave them. Snape probably wasn't thrilled to give Harry the lessons. He did at Dumbledore's request. Further, Dumbledore later admitted to Harry that he should have given the lessons instead of Snape.

I agree. When Lupin taught Harry to fight dementors, that was a painful process - Harry kept passing out and hearing his parents' voices - but Lupin kept encouraging him and making sure he was okay. I don't think Harry could have learned the patronus charm if he had a teacher belittling him for having a hard time. I don't think Dumbledore "intended" Harry to fail... I think he "intended" Snape to develop a bond with Harry.
@Mukation Жыл бұрын
Which he already had. He both loved Harry because he was Lilly's daughter, yet Harry also _looks_ identical to the guy who made his childhood a living hell and that made it difficult for him to be "kind" to him. (It's is stated time and time again that Harry is looks virtually identical to James, the only difference being the colour of their eyes) Not to mention that if he had gotten close to Harry, by the time Voldemort returned, it would've been hard for him to pretend to be a loyal servant without giving Harry to Voldemort. Like, imagine if Hargrid had been a deatheater, how easily wouldn't he have been able to trick Harry into showing up somewhere were Voldemort could get him? Snape intentionally kept his distance and his aggressive hatred and distain for Harry was both his loathing of James Potter, but also a way to protect both his role as Dumbledore's "inside man" and Harry. Like, if he didn't care for Harry at all.... why would he give him his memories to _show_ him the truth just before he died? He clearly cared enough to let Harry know that he was just trying to protect him and that he had loved her mother.
@pastorjerrykliner3162 Жыл бұрын
@@Mukation but I think that Dumbledore thought that if Snape could see how similar he and Harry's lives were, that Snape could forge a bond of sympathy with Harry, not merely as "Lily Evans' son." But. as Dumbledore says in "Half-Blood Prince", some wounds are too deep for healing.

3:00 Uh that one is kind of ridiculous. I will say this, friends can have a positive impact on a person's life, not because they are parental figures or representations (which is weird to think about for Ron and Hermione because they're the same age as Harry), but because they are good people who had good influences in their lives. Parents should never be a friend to their child. The relationship that a friend and parent have on people are completely different. I don't think a friend can/would punish someone to the effect that a parent would have.

Regarding "Snapped Wand" segment: After reading the book, and seeing the movie, it occurs to me that in the movie version, what Harry snapped was a copy that he made, thus protecting his actual placement of the real wand with Dumbledore.
@LawrenceHanson2 Жыл бұрын
In the books though. If you read carefully enough. It sounds like Voldemort was already breaking the wand by forcing his magic through it while the wand resisted him. Then, it cracks while Harry uses it to repair His wand, which (if wand lore is taken into account here:) the elder wand might have felt insulted/betrayed by. ^ I believe this is more accurate, but not wanting to lose the viewers in cinema, the screenwriters decided to make things simpler by just snapping it.

My own little theory is that when Bellatrix Lestrange was dueling Molly Weasley, she lost for two reasons, first she didn't take Molly seriously, but secondly I think it's because she didn't have her own original wand, maybe that made her less powerful. The wand properties (flexibility, wood type and core) were most likely different to the original wand that she was proficient in using.

I think with the 1st thoery of Harry's resurrection, its caus of Lilly's sacrificial protection. His mother used a form of anicent magic fuled by true genuine love for her son, that Voldemort couldn't touch him. That's why Quirrell disintegrated, cause his master was *on* him. And it protected Harry, along with sharing it with his friends when the battle continued. The school's safty; it's only cause of all of the activities link to or directly from Voldemort. Before he opened the chamber as a student, after he graduated, and all things from pre book 1; Hogwarts really was safe for its students and staff. After his defeat in DH, I'm sure it has become even safer then ever before.

I always thought Dumbledores secret agenda for the occlumency lessons was cannon. And why the demontors were more attracted to Harry
@leto-nl Жыл бұрын
The last one seems most pausible. Think of it you travel by portkey by touching it. As they did with the quidditch tournament. But everything you have with you goes with you. They arrived still wearing cloths and everything they had in their pockets. The twins had money to make a bet. So a living thing had to touch it yet everything non living he carries along goes with him. Cedric was no longer living so Harry could take him with him. The theory of the basilisk makes sence to if you think about it. Both the diary and Harry had a part of the soul of Voldemort so both should be able to control it. But what if the soul did not cut in equel parts and the piece that is in the diary made earlier is larger and stronger and has more control. What if each time you create a horcrux you split your soul in halve then the earlier horcruxes should have larger pieces and perhaps strong piecers. Stronger for the diary voldemort to overrule amy control Harry could try. Wich is what happened in the book
@Auron1Roxas2 Жыл бұрын
It's explained how Harry came back and it wasn't the hallows. Dumbledore knew this would happen, that's why he said voldemort had to be the one who did it. Ron and Hermione were his sibling figures, not his parental figures. Dumbledore did want Harry to learn occlumency since he truly believed voldemort would invade Harry's mind. We know why dementers were extra attracted to Harry and it wasn't because of the small fragment of soul in him. The basilisk wouldn't of recognized Harry as the heir because of a small soul fragment. The seer one was incredibly vague, especially the betrayal one since Barty was never Harry's ally. The obscurial one is also ridiculous. This is another list of terrible fan theories that make no sense, hardly any of them are believable.

10. That would have been a solid theory. IF they very next chapter didn't explain otherwise, which it did. '''His body keeps her sacrifice alive, and while the enchantment survives, so do you'' - Dumbledore 9. So just because Harry had friends who supported him, it supposedly mean that they were his parents who timetraveled into the future? There's so many holes in this theory, none which makes sense that I don't even know where to begin. But it's clear whoever came up with this friendship clearly don''t know the difference between relations of friends and relation between child and parent. 8. That's semi plausible. But in the later chapter after the department of mystery, Dumbledore seemed really regretful for not teach Harry himself occlumency instead letting the professor he hates the most do it, causing Harry to fail to learn it and then fall into Voldemort's trap. The prophecy stored there could only be retrieved by Harry and the Order's mission through out the sixth book was to prevent Voldemort to get it. 7. That's the only theory on this list that makes sense and is believable 6. Because while Harry had apart of Voldemort's soul in him, he's still not an heir of Slytherin and directly descended from Salazar, while Voldemort was. And like explained in the CoS book, only their heir could control the monster within the chamber. Btw what's the theory here to begin with? This seems to me more like bringing up a potential plot hole which it isn't. 5. Both Harry and Ron made tons of random predication in the books with only about 3 being correct. It does not make them seers or good predictors in anyway and also divination as a subject is completely fraudulent with even Dumbledore considering the subject non-sense 4. What is the theory here? Everything here is correct and already canon with Hogwarts having tons of magical enchantments and protection to keep external threats to the castle and grounds safe. Pretty much all dangers or threats to the school we see in the books are internal threats except for the Battle of Hogwarts. 3. Yep exactly. Harry did not know of his magical abilities and also was to oblivious to realize whenever he did do accidental magic, hence never tried to repress them and thus not turn into an obscurial. Also if Dumbledore now wanted Harry to become one, you think he would introduce to Harry that he indeed actually was a wizard much early on, in hopes of repressing his magical abilities and turn into one. Then again Harry would most likely have died before going to Hogwarts and becoming any use of to Dumbledore as the Fantastic beasts state, the odds of an obscurial surviving past the age of 10 is incredible rare that we only know two individuals who's done so, Aurelius and Ariana. 2. Well as the films are only secondary canon to the books, then the true canon is Harry putting the elder wand back in Dumbledore's tomb. 1. That also makes sense as a theory if it was that. Because you can transport others with a port-key while holding on to the person who is touching it. We see this in Hogwarts Legacy after initial dragon attack with the student player character hold's Professor Figgs hand while Figg accios the port-key, transporting them to the ruins of Percival Rackham's home

The theories about the Dementors particular interest in Harry as well Harry and Ron predicting the future, I have kept as headcanons for a few years now, the one about Hermoine and Ron being surrogate parents for Harry is pretty sweet and I like it, the one about Cedric, less sweet but sounds very plausible and the one about the basilisk, it is probable. Harry never tried to communicate with it, but at the very least, he might have able to confuse it. The others however, not really my cup of tea, there are better explanations available or are just dark for darkness' sake... Though a theory about Obscurials I do enjoy, is the notion that the Dursley in their fear of magic almost made Harry one, by trying to rid him of his magic. If Harry had known that this was what they were doing, he might have turned into an Obscurial and the only reason it didn't, was because he didn't had even the slightest clue that he was in fact magical.

About the basilisk theory: Harry and Voldemort were *both* technically heirs of Slytherin (Ignotus and Cadmus respectively) so it's probable!
@BjornV19943 ай бұрын
@@wyattstevens8574 That is possible, though are we certain that Slytherin was related to the Peverell Brothers and if so, do we know that the Peverells are descendants of Slytherin and not the other way around? Because if Slytherin is a descendant of a Peverell (or off course if they aren't related after all), Harry wouldn't be an heir of Slytherin . The reason why I'm not sure, is because unless I've missed other information on Pottermore, the only link between Slytherin and Peverell are the Gaunt family being descendanted of both families. This might be through a straight bloodline but it can also be possible at different points in their history the Slytherin family through the maternal line and the Peverell line, again through the maternal line intermingled with the Gaunts. They are inbred sure, but they didn't started that way necessarily.

i like the theory but i always interpreted “master of death” as a more metaphoric expression. if you have the most powerful wand, the ability to recall loved ones for advice, and a way to mark yourself completely invisible, then it would be very difficult for anyone to murder you or end your life. doesn’t mean you can’t die but rather you hold death in your hands. because inversely if you have these 3 things it would make it very easy to bring about death to anyone or thing you wished.

The elder wand one : for me i think it would have been always breakable like any other wand but people just didn't think of doing such a thing because they loved it's power and were seduced by it and a person like harry who didn't think of power became the master he broke it... And at the end this is all movie stuff and not the real canon which i prefer what happened to the wand in it of course.

People! The reason Harry survived the killing curse in the forest, is because Voldemort took harrys blood in the goblet of fire! It strengthened the protection charm from his mother, and voldemort became the ONLY person who couldn't kill Harry! This isn't rocket science!

What if, for the movie version, Harry found something that resembled the elder wand and snapped it so he had witnesses seeing that the elder wand was destroyed but it was a ploy and he actually buried it in secret.

What if the reason dementors love Harry is because since he was hit with the killing curse and lived harry has a curse that dementors can sense that he’s supposed to be dead but they can’t register the concept of the power of his mothers love and why he lived, Dumbledore did mention that they can’t tell the difference between the one they are attacking vs the one who gets in their way so for a dementors perspective they just see harry as cheating death since they don’t really do much thinking except their actions
@Stephen10188 Жыл бұрын
TBH I assumed the first was canon, that was always my reading of it. I don’t think the other 2 potential reasons for him surviving hold water. 1. Voldemort 8th Horcrux was harry, so he was inside Harry, how would a curse aimed at harry, miss harry, and hit the thing inside him instead. Also Harry does die (Temporarily), to say that only Voldemort was killed seems ridiculous. 2. Harry's blood seems a bit more in depth, but if the protection it offers is permanent and shields the user from either Voldemort’s curses (The one harry was protected from by his mother), or even all curses, its presence in both Voldemort and harry, would mean harry could've survived again without the need for Voldemort’s body to keep him alive, If it doesn’t work that way, then the blood being in Voldemort is irrelevant, Harry Is just Immortal/always protected. Also again if the blood, either in Harry or in another vessel 9Voldemort) somehow protects Harry, how did Voldemort’s Horcrux, which lives in Harry's body with that same blood die? The Master of death just seems to me the only one that makes any sense at all. Also, what is the importance from a plot point of view of the Hallows (Other than the wand which Vol wanted to allow him to duel Harry and win) if they've not involved here. If that we're the case the whole Hallows subplot is basically meaningless and diminishes the importance of Harry's decision to focus on Horcruxes rather than Hallows (Which was suggested to be some sort of virtuous decision in the books). Theory 2 is loving friends make up for a lack of love elsewhere, well duh, though I’m not sure Ron was ever mature enough to been seen as a father figure though. So, half true The 3rd is silly, being able to read Harry's Mind made Voldemort act like a silly teenager? Reading someone's mind isn't the same as being forced to behave like them. The 4th Makes some sense, though the only times the dementors actually attack Harry Specifically, is when he gets between them and Sirius, as he was warned they would. And when they are sent after him and Dudley which is a lot more planned out than him being an extra tasty meal. So... inconclusive. The Basilisk theory is daft, the logic seems valid but it clearly isn’t what happened. I like the divination one, it’s a nice easter egg, though prophecy is always sufficiently vague in HP even when it’s not outright made up, so how hard would it have been for them to say something wrong? The dumbledore one is rubbish, firstly Cedric did die, (and if a portkey is all that’s needed its a bit easy to get around), also if such a spell existed why not put it on other places too, (Houses of the order's members for example), and why didn’t Dippit use it to protect moaning myrtle. Harry being an obscurial, raises some Qs about continuity (As most muggle-born don’t find out that they’re a witch/wizard until aged 11, so why aren't there load of them?) but also, as you say, its a daft plan for a number of reasons, and also its clearly/factually didn’t happen. I also always took issue with him breaking the wand, in a book where we hear so much about how almost any object can be made all-but indestructible (Horcruxes), the most powerful wand ever, which survived ~1000 years even after Death parted ways with it, was just snapped?!?, Also by that point harry didnt have the resurection stone anymore. Let's just say there's a very obvious reason it didn’t go that way in the book, it makes no sense. The Last one make some sense, assuming you can't travel by portkey indirectly, though Im not sure this is ever stated.

2, I dont think its Hallows, maybe it diminishes their role but they are a distraction which is why Harry choosing Horcuxes is a smart and important decision. Its the enchantment from Lilys blood that lives in Voldemort which, when combined with the fact that Harry willingly sacrificed himself in order to save others (just like his mother) allows him to die but still have the chance to come back. Its like you said both Harry and the piece of Voldemorts soul were killed from the curse, but Harry was able to return to life while Voldys soul was not

well its not realy on topic, but its also concerning Harry short death. we know for a fact that harry was a horcrux. but if Voldemort could use Avada Kedavra to destroy the horcrux part in harry, why couldnt Harry, Ron and Hermoine use it on the other Horcruxes? i mean if it was Dumbledores plan all along that Harry let himself be killed by voldermort, couldnt he have told Harry this? why the need for the Sword (which only worked because it was absorbing poison from the basilisk), Basilik-teeth or Demonic Fire? it would have been so much easier to just Avada Kedavra the Horcrux and be done with it. and if the answer is " oh yeah that only worked because Harry was alive and not an object" why would Voldemort try to protect Nagini which Charms and Curses? the killingcurse is unblockable, it would have went straight through it. anyways thanks for the vid
@CharlesOffdensen Жыл бұрын
Well, the other Horcruxes are subjects. Also maybe Avada Kedavra might have worked, but they didn't try it. As for why Dumbledore doesn't tell Harry anything. If he tells Harry that Avada Kedavra might kill the Horcrux in him, and not him, than Harry will not die willingly. And Dumbledore thinks this is key.

If people can't travel via a portkey indirectly, how did the protagonist of Hogwarts Legacy travel via portkey? A thought that I have is that it's circumstantial in that most cases don't allow it. However, if the situation has people have a particularly strong desire for it, they can. That would explain it as they would both want to avoid death at the jaws of the dragon. It would also explain why it otherwise never works that way.

Is the theory that they should have used the ability to read thoughts to see if Harry put his own name in the goblet of fire? Snape could do this in order of phoenix and I’m guessing it’s not new and that he’s not the only one. Or Dumbledore could have looked through his memories. That story happened in the 1990s. Maybe a muggle video camera and VHS to record what was going on …. Is the theory that they can just …. ignore Harry’s name coming out of the goblet because … they’re adults and they had their three contestants and they can ignore a fourth? Is the theory that they should use the godlike power of the time turner given to a 13 year old girl or whatever to roll back time and protect Cedric and capture/defeat Voldemort? The entire order of the phoenix could have showed up in the graveyard unexpectedly to just end that whole series of stories. No more book 5,6 or 7. Voldemort and his most loyal death eaters gone before Voldemort could fully return.
