Is it considered a artifact though I only ask because hermione placed a charm on her handbag that basically made it bottomless I would think it would be just an ordinary suitcase with a powerful charm on it granted it’s still very cool and looks awesome I just don’t think it’s powerful enough to be considered an artifact I’d like to hear any other thoughts though

I think it was mentioned early on in the 6 or 7th book that the charm used to increase the inside of a room is while fairly difficult nothing to unheard of and is used for tons of items tents, handbags, suitcases, briefcases, and likely a few more that are kinda more specialized, but basically it's just a good storage spell. I think many such items excist overall, I would also guess that the shop that tom riddle worked for death with many artefacts that had fairly niche and powerful effects the thiefs hands, the vanishing cabinet. that managed to even breach the wards of hogwarts for teleportation. and likely many others.

The deluminator also guided Ron back to Harry and Hermione after he left in Deathly Hallows, that is why Dumbledore gave it to him, not only to put out lights. I'd say it is more powerful than we give it credit for.

The Elder Wand should be much lower on the list. It is a very powerful wand but it does not make the wielder invincible, they can be beaten in a duel. The Wand changes allegiances as it has passed though many hands, whether by duel or when it senses a witch or wizard of greater power the Elder Wand places the owner in a constant precarious position.

The thing that bothers me the most about the entire series is that Voldemort wasn't master of the wand. His cursed ring killed Dumbledore, or, gave him a death sentence. Even if not, it literally disarmed him. Even if not if not, he killed Snape, who killed Dumbledore. And then he took the wand from the corpse. How Harry ended up as master of that thing is something I will never understand. Voldemort beat Dumbledore

@@jamieisausername well because the ring didn’t kill him outright so that doesn’t transfer it to Voldemort and that’s assuming that a trap like that even counts then Draco disarms him transferring ownership to Draco then Harry disarms Draco even if it wasn’t the elder wand he took it still saw him as the new owner like Draco’s actual wand

Draco disarmed Dumbledore on the tower, so he became owner of Dumbledore’s wand Dumbledore’s wand was buried with him because everyone believed he was the owner [ remember that no one knew it was ‘the’ elder wand..] Voldemort went grave robbing, presumably this doesn’t count as transferring ownership Voldemort disappointed with wand so killed Snape [ who had killed Dumbledore ].. In the final duel… Voldemort‘s wand recognised Draco’s wand and its genuine owner and therefore does not obey avada kedarva but obeys expelliamus

I knew the Elder Wand would be No. 1 on this list. I'm glad Movie Harry broke the Elder Wand instead of putting it back in Dumbledore's grave like Book Harry did after he used it to repair his own wand. I'm sure we can all agree that the Elder Wand has too much power for any wizard or witch to wield.

the wand is not too much for a wizard or witch to use… according to its backstory, there were multiple times its whereabouts were unknown… so it remained ‘safe’ for longer than the times it was newsworthy… Also it seems silly to destroy something so historic without fully studying it’s powers..if it can mend wands, what else can it do..

Why sword at 5thbplace. What does the sword do besides to being a sword

@@Meriketunvittu It is Goblin-Made Silver, the magic of that repels anything that could weaken it and absorbs what can strengthen/improve it. So when Harry killed the Basilisk it absorbed Basilisk Venom which allows it to destroy Horcruxes. Also it's additional magic allows it to appear before any worthy Gryffindor when needed and can't generally be kept by anyone/anything else long-term. Like when Griphook took it during the chaos of the Gringott's Break-in, but later on when Neville needed the sword it appeared for him and he then slayed Nagini.

I kind of like the idea that the elder wand has no power other than maybe fostering a desire for power. The reason why the wand has the reputation it does isn’t because it’s powerful, but because the powerful are drawn to the wand. Like a kind of magical survival of the fittest, only the strong can hold onto the wand for long and the longer a powerful Wizard holds the wand, the more the reputation of the wand grows… attracting stronger wizards to take the legendary wand from them. Rinse and repeat.

I read the elder wand is indeed powerful, but it's more like a amplification item.. It can not make impossible feats (so it says, but it's been the only thing to fully repair wands that is beyond repair by wand makers and wand keepers), but it can perform at impossible, making whatever spell used by it to be many times more powerful then normal.

You underrated the Sword of Gryffindor, because its ability to absorb everything that would make it stronger makes it have boundless potential. For instance, by the time after Chamber of Secrets the sword had basilisk venom in it, forever! That makes it really really REALLY powerful.

And it nearly killed Katie Bell. I know I know, it might have been the Horcrux of Herpo The Fowl, but we have no evidence of it yet. So I treat this object as an incredibly powerful magical tool.

The thing about the philosopher’s stone, is that in the philosopher’s stone isn’t supposed to make the elixir of life, which needs to drinking repeatedly. The philosopher stone is the first step to creating Panacea and Alkehest. The first a medicine that can cure all ailments and give one immortality and the universal solvent a liquid that could break anything to their base elements. But the Harry Potter philosophers doesn’t do neither sure it can turn metals into old, yet we see the creator of the stone in the fantastic beast, we see him as weak almost sickly state which means the elixir of life isn’t Panacea as it only needs to be taken once and one wouldn’t look so sickly.

The Sorting Hat should be a bit higher. It is likely able to read minds and do it so quickly that it can sort students within minutes. It is also a representation of the 4 founders who were four of the most brilliant wizards and witches ever. I'd have it above the Mirror of Erised. I would also put the Invisibility Cloak and Moody's eye above the Elder Wand. I'll post my list in another comment.

For one, it was (supposedly) created by Death himself. Also, and maybe more importantly, the wand absorbs some of the experience, skills and power of the wizards/witches wielding it. The wand already had many centuries to become stronger and stronger… and not only that, its potential is also indefinite which makes it invaluable for in a thousand years, it’ll be even stronger.

The prophecy orbs should not be ahead of the pensive, Dumbledore explains that the orb was not the prophecy it was simply a way to store the record, and it wasn't the only place the record was stored and then he proceeded to show Harry the prophecy with the pensive.

My theory is that the elder wand is no different than any other wands. People just think it is because the wands legend attracts already powerful wizards to own it. Those wizards use their already extraordinary powerful magic skills, people attribute that to the wand further fuelling its legend and attracting more powerful wizards to want it.

Voldemort directly says that he can tell the wand isn’t working for him, suspecting it’s because it belongs to Snape (when actually it belonged to Draco then Harry.) It’s the reason why Harry wins his duel with Voldemort too. Voldemort, under normal circumstances, beats Harry 10/10 times but in that instance, Voldemort is trying to force the Elder Wand to work against the wizard that it actually belonged to. It’s an interesting theory, but the rules of the Elder Wand are canon. Voldemort gets defeated by it.

The Elder Wand is NOT the most powerful artifact! Wands are more like magnifying glasses. They focus the power of witches and wizards. The only ones who seek the Elder Wand are witches/wizards who are seeking power, for power's sake. As such, they are inherently powerful in their own rights.

@@muhammadmohsen8732 I don't argue the point. It is an exceptionally fine-made wand. The more refined the wand, the better focusing of the power. But a mediocre witch/wizard will produce mediocre magic with a great want, whereas, a great wizard will produce great magic with a mediocre wand.

Here’s a topic for discussion; Why wasn’t Harry an obscurist?? Originally I had thought it was because he was too young to really have magic abilities to suppress, and by the time he was old enough he didn’t have to hide it. But then fantastic beasts explained that no, it ONLY happens to young kids, they don’t last till age 11 to go to hogwarts. And Harry absolutely had to try and act as normal as possible around the dursleys, being punished anytime something unusual happened. So why didn’t Harry become an obscurist? Doesn’t make much sense to me. I mean, the easy answer would be just saying “well, he didn’t know he was a wizard, so didn’t know to hide it” but even without knowing, he had to hide it. Had to hide anything unusual and basically pretend he didn’t exist entirely. The perfect breeding ground.

Except he didn’t actively hide or try to suppress it like Ariana did. He used it and got in trouble without even knowing what he was doing. He was magical and had no control but was definitely not having suppressive episodes and bursts.
