Arabella FIgg was a squeeb. She never attended Hogwards, so she was sorted in her house in Little Whinging ;)

before we start - I still think that the house traits are neither good nor bad, it's your intention (and what you make of it) that can make any of the traits good or bad. The Dislike is me - since once again all "unlikebal characters" are just sorted into Slytherin. There are personal changes wgilee growing up. Ollivander - I agree with Ravenclaw, BUT he could also be a Gryffindor, for collecting the ingredients OR a Slytherin for his cunning with the wands and their placements Mundungus - could also have been Hufflepuff, for being loyal ONLY to himself which is waht I mean with your intent also... he could still have been Grayffindor, because he was brave enough to steal Shaklebold could also have been Slytherin for being cunning and ambitious (which I think more lilely) or Ravenclaw, since he is intelligent. Fudge again could have been Hufflepuff for being loyal to the rules and himself. Skeeter - Ravenclaw, since she was clever and intelligent enough to become an animagus. (I think she probably was Slytherin - BUT I think she could have been a Ravenclaw as well) Bagman - Hufflepuff for me. He is actually not brave enough to be Gryffindor Scringour is definetly a Slytherin Sorry... (or a Ravenclaw) DO NOT sort all nice characters into Gryffindor remember Pettigrew... I HATE it when people just go by the first look. Sorry... It really annoys me - just have a look at what intention can do XD

This. Traits are fine and all, but pretty much anyone is corruptible. Wormtail was in Gryffindor, and Lockhart was in Ravenclaw. I think JKR did Slytherin dirty by having so few good characters coming from there. I mean, the only confirmed one we've got is... Slughorn. And don't get me started on Snape; he might have fought for the right side, but calling him morally good is one hell of a stretch. I refuse to believe that absolutely no student from Slytherin wanted to stay behind and fight for the school during the last battle. It was the perfect opportunity to redeem the house a bit. Even within Slytherin there's bound to be students more loyal to the school than to motherflipping Voldie.

The hat stated that Harry was particularly difficult to place, but it stood by what it said last year, that Harry would have done well in Slytherin." That disproved what Hagrid and Ron stated about all Slytherins being bad. The house doesn't make you, the school does, and the house you were in would really mean nothing once one graduated, except having friends and acquaintances from your house. It was Dumbledore that said that some were sorted too soon, where one changes as they grow. I believe he was referring to Snape when he stated that. The reason more Slytherins were Death Eaters, was because Tom recruited from his own house more than the others, but there were Death Eaters from all four houses.

The hat sorted Harry when he was a horcrux. That's why it said that he would have done well in Slytherin and that he was particularly difficult to place. That being said, as a Hufflepuff myself, I get along best with Slytherin people. I love Slytherin house.

Her mom, Andromeda Tonks (née Black) was likely in Slytherin, as were her sisters, Narcissa and Bellatrix.

the mother of tonks, i don feel slytherin is the exact spot for her i think grifindor is also a good spot considering she was brave enough to go aigenst her extremist view family despite knowing how they treat any in the family going aigenst their belifes. she knew that she would lose all contact with the majority, if not all of her family with that chose (sirius beeing a potential exception and potentialy the family member that willed a large amount of money to sirius, though the later is harder to know since we dont know how old they was at the persons death and how closly related tonks was to the person in question.

I generally agree but canon suggests that she would have been in Slytherin, there’s no mention of her being disowned to any degree till she married Ted and I feel this would have been mentioned as it’s the most crucial information we have for her as a character. My thinking is that she may have, like harry, asked to be in Slytherin given her families opinion on a child of theirs being anything other than a Slytherin. Look how that went for Sirius…

I agree that other houses might be a better fit, but since Slughorn said in the books that the entire Black family except Sirius was in Slytherin she probably was sorted into Slytherin for some reason, maybe because she asked the hat to be placed into this house.

In general i would trink Gryffindor would fit Andromeda. But as far as we know from the Books and Bits on the Wizarding World Website... Sirius was the first and only Black sorted out of Slytherin.

She is not unsorted, canon officially states she was sorted into Slytherin like her two sisters

Everyone has a favorite house. They hope their favorite characters was in that house, but how do you know what was in their heart? You can't judge someone based on the house they were sorted into. There are many examples of people that went to houses THAT WE THINK they shouldn't have. Don't judge them based on their house. Also, Hufflepuff, is the least messed up house in the series based on the facts that we have.

You know what would make a great hbo show as well if we followed the lives of Harry Ron/Herm Darco’s kids. But it didn’t follow in footsteps of The Cursed Child. The backstories they could explain through that show😍 💯

That's the point of saying characters like Hagrid are prejudiced against Slytherin, monsters can come from any house, not just Slytherin.

He valued bravery so the sorting hat put him in Gryffindor. Unlike his counterpart in Harry's year (Neville), he didn't live up to what he valued.

I wonder if the Order of the Phoenix only accept members from Gryffindor, and maybe Hufflepuff at a stretch..? Maybe it was originally like a secret alumni-freemason-style association for former Gryffindors, and then it kind of randomly morphed into a Voldemort resistance movement..

Despite read the books and watched the movies, and not fan of a Harry Potter by a mile, I really enjoyed the idea of houses. I think that it's really easy way to put characters in an interesting situiations. Not all slytherins for example are cunning in a bad way. It is a famous fact that Draco thrown a wand into Harry's hand. This is cunning as af to be against the dark load while being his figure in a chess. Of all more casual characters I think Rita Skeeter is actually 100% a slytherin. She even borrowed green for movies which is also somewhat mind-flowing into that idea. And she's a terrible character at any angle.

Harry chose his own house. The hat wanted him in Slytherin. Also Hermione. The hat wanted her in Ravenclaw. But she figured out that all the Weasleys went to Griffindor and she wanted to be with Ron. There’s a discussion - book 5 maybe? Where Hermione admits this.

lets see, i think olivander might have been homeschooled instead by his family because he took over the family trade in making wands, it is mentioned in the 7th book by Ron that there is no requirement that young witches and wizards NEED to go to hogwarts or another wizard school but that parrent can if they want educate their own kids but most send their kids of to hogwarths. but i do think that olivander might be a potential exception to the norm and having the possibility to learn a lot more of wand lore and the making of wands etc from his father/mother and potential grandparents etc if alive while he was young than what hogwarts could teach.

I disagree about Andromeda Tonks. Being a member of the Black family would not mean an automatic placement into Slytherin.....Sirius Black was just as determined and had just as much ambition to leave the prejudiced family behind and was a Gryffindor. Also, I thought Ted Tonks was a muggle?

Andromeda was a Slytherin, it's canon. Also, Ted Tonks was Muggle-BORN, not a Muggle.
