As a long time Porsche owner, they're taking the p*ss at this point. These are the P cars I would have (1) RS Spyder simply both beautiful and brilliant - the summer car (2) 991.2 GT3 RS - epic track car that you can really take to the track with all your gear (3) 991.2 GT3 Touring - brilliant every day of the week (4) 982 GT4 RS - just an outright hooligan (5) 992 don't bother - big cars, heavier and tacky interiors.

Puddle lights are there for a reason... Why wouldn't you need light around the car when getting in and out? Although that particular puddle light's text is crass and limits the light emitted, in general puddle lights look very classy. Just like a nice light in the courtyard of a villa. I'd assume like with other brands you can simply switch out the lenses to have a better design. Those weren't a thing yet when I had my Porsche, but I've had puddle lights specifically installed on my Mercs and BMWs (and no, I did not choose the ///M-lens but the BMW roundel logo lens and in the Merc I had the star-logo instead of the AMG-logo).

Hey you expert: The 911 S/T isn't like a stupid Jaguar or Lotus: it's a rare PORSCHE 911 GT3 special edition vehicle, and therefore it has the very right to be very expensive. Period. What did you expect from a perfectly built supercar, with such a high level of perfectionism from PORSCHE, dude??! It's really funny, that we never hear guys like you complaining about astronomical prices of POS "supercars" like McLarens for example, which nowadays have horrible depreciation and actually aren't even functional, because most of their time they are quite kaputt and standing at dealerships... Of course the 911 S/T is very expensive, because it WON'T depreciate!! Unlike much more expensive McLaren POS vehicles, which are a joke compared to the S/T! If POS McLaren "base version" prizes are even higher than the 911 S/T prize tag, people like you don't have the right to critizising PORSCHE prizes. It's quite self-explanatory why the 911 S/T is very expensive! Owning this car is like a dream investment! The 911 S/T actually doesn't have a competitor and it's already a collectors dream car. Therefore it has a totally justified price tag!

@TassieLorenzo3 ай бұрын
"so its not really porsches fault." They could put a quieter exhaust on it, no? Japanese (plebian) sportscars like the Nissan Z have very, very quiet exhausts to comply faithfully with strict Japanese noise regulations. It's a far cry from how Porsche used to disingenuously and deliberately cheat the EU drive by noise test with a valve that closes at 50kph and opens at 60 kph (test speed of 55 kph). Why not faithfully comply with noise rules with a nice restrictive exhaust in good faith, they could reduce the exhaust diameter from 65mm per bank to 55mm to make it quieter and lose some hp, no? 🙂 While WLTP has put a stop to "off-road use modes", it's frustrating how in the past the likes of valved Porsche Sport Exhausts (and others on plebian German-engineered cars like Mini JCWs and i30Ns) were celebrated for the way they deliberately and blatantly cheated noise rules, while people complained of cars like the WRX STI being almost silent (quieter than a diesel Astra!) as they followed the rules to the letter in good faith.
@niclebowski92143 ай бұрын
@TassieLorenzo i agree with you. However, i still think that making these regulations on an international level would be better, even if it comes to making it quieter and lose hp. It would come with far less waste of money, materials and it would be easier to omologate but america still wants those rules so. I know vw hasn't been 100% genuine with their test tho wich is really bad.

I fail to understand the maths behind the ST, apparently it s like a special for ppl who ve bought numerous Porsches in the past, incl. less desirable ones so they get the chance to have their collector piece that gains money. But does kinda math really work out alongside the downsides of frustrating another share of their customers, I somehow doubt it whilst I m convinced they could sell 5x as many and it still could be marketed as a gift for long-term customers. Sold for 50k less, it ll eat into GT Touring sales but those are also hard to come by as well. The decal packs are horrific and it s insane you can t get certain features without them.

@@jono6379 The question I raised was if these highly limited and overly expensive special edition cars really make economic sense for the manufacturer itself. Many take it as a given or strongly argue it s worth it for them in order to make ppl "play the game" (acquisition of allocation slots). I personally believe that it d be far more beneficial to release such models on a larger scale, making them more accessible for a broader group. I think this pseudo scarcity actually isn t even positive for the car maker itself, let alone the undesired side effects such allocations bring along.

As a Porsche fan, it's great to see a model getting love from seemingly EVERYONE. As a poor car fan, it's disappointing that "collectors" dominate the market, raising prices that don't make sense, even after a lottery win... 😢

Those door lights really are a bit naff on a car of that calibre. Who signed off on Such a thing?

Well I have seen 20 videos on this car that do not show off the audio/visual very well - Harry does a great job ! So, there are many million dollar cars now that I would say are not as desired … even though its unattainable they are still cheaper than many others

Not a Porsche enthusiast but that is a very beautiful car. The colour combo and wheels and understated appearance is refreshing. Shame they will all disappear into collections to be rarely seen and heard. Puddle light output and the roll cage would need a re-think if I were ticking the options, other than than manual heaven.

I wonder how much would it cost to put the ST transmission bits to a Touring GT3 since it is its best feature.

The unadorned look much more grown up than some recent Porsches on test, which frankly look ridiculous. Needs duct tape on those door lights...

I’m obsessed with this 992 generation of 911s. They just look so unbelievably good, and seem worth the price in my opinion for what you get (I know the RS can be 450k+ at times). I’ve gotten to be in every variation (including the Dakar if that counts), but the S/T I doubt I’ll ever be in any time soon. I doubt I’ll even see one in person. Even though I’m fine with the Touring GT3, I can’t deny how amazing the S/T is. Just one of the best sports cars ever made.

They're absolutely MASSIVE, though.

@@EvoraGT430 Genuinely couldn’t care any less. If I somehow got a GT3 Touring, I like that it’s big. I would even add backseats to it just like how Seen Through Glass and others have done (since it’s the same setup inside as the regular 911s). All I care about is that it looks good, sounds good, and handles amazing. If I wanted a smaller Porsche, I would just go for a 964 or 997 or something alike.
@exotica5503 ай бұрын
BTW, the 997 Manual weighs 1420Kg, is a 3.8L Flat 6, c.380 BHP and you can change a spare if you get a flat tyre. The ST with all that carbon Fibre and light alloys and CF Brakes weighs 1380.And is a BIG Car.And unless you carry a 6' Long Torque Wrench,you can't take a Wheel off,so it's back to the Dealer on a Flat Bed Truck. Bother!

At this pace I wonder how long until Porsche adds flat-four to the 911, call it 912 forgotten-heritage-limited-numbered-anniversary-edition and asks +200k for it.

@@AndrasMihalyi They don't need to develop a new engine for it. That engine already exists, they made it for the 718 GTS 2.5 litre. It is 350 hp, 310 lb ft

That's a good idea actually! A 912 4-cylinder would have lower CO2 emissions and the engine is lighter. NA (flat-six) purists probably won't like it, but for those who don't mind the turbo engines, the 718 S 2.5 turbo with 350bhp @ 6500rpm should be plenty powerful.
