i am na diamond 1 and went to europe and diamond and master in europe are a lot worse than NA, i got master 2 easily, . something i havent been able to do in NA. GM is a lot better in europe but normal players are a lot worse. kinda backwards with korea, where a diamond in korea is masters in both na and eu.

I guessed D1 on the last game. I think they let the tunneling claws get to their heads. One guy was so terrified of mutas they build spores everywhere before needing them, I think they didnt factor that in at the end. That alone put it below masters for me, and roach vs roach is super easy to micro.

Yeah I actually guessed diamond 2 pretty confidently, they tried a lot of micro like stutter stepping and ravager morphing but messed it up half the time and blead dps, whereas a GM wouldn't mess it up nearly that much, also the worker counts were terrible for a GM level mid to late game and they were still floating a lot, the 1 harass with the burrowed roaches they even ran through their army and detection and got hit a bunch going to the main, at Diamond players can harass, have comps that make sense and macro ok, idk how harstem thought this was GM lol, his zerg is low GM himself and this was much worse than him

Just uploaded one of my games that was an experiment/practice. Learned a lot from watching Harsteem think out his games on the fly, Winter as well with his casting and uthermal with unconventional approaches even though i will never be anywhere close to that level I admire the skills and love the game. Would be excited to see the commentary on this game. Enjoy!!

You ever think about determining the playoffs by how much the contestant beats or loses to Harstem by instead of absolute score? It could help smooth out some of the randomness since some clips are just harder to guess than others

I guessed D2 on the last game, bc I'm a D2 zerg on Na and it looked like one of my typical games I would lose trying to get lurkers against a good roach player.

As a diamond 2, that was just what i do as well, but i also focus fire (a rarity Harstem have never seen) :D Comment about triggers: What triggers me is when terrans mule the gold, just shows they have no clue. Just as protosses activating Void rays against the wrong targets, like hydras :D

the difference between gm and high diamond is consistensy, as a diamond i have beaten gms, i cant do it every day or every game but we can do it. in diamond they do execute perfect build orders and those sometimes with minimal micro can kill everyone.

I think it’s also adaptability, diamonds a lot of time(myself included) fall apart whenever there is a minor roadblock in the game plan. GMs have such deep knowledge of the game that they know exactly every response to most situations

I have to be honest. The last game was hard to guess. I would have guessed diamond 1 though. But I think, that diamond was still fair and no smurf. To add things, I would have been way higher overall in points.

I'm getting like, 0 points on most of these. Maybe 1 at most. Yeah, the Diamond 2 game I got a 0 on as well. I used to play at that League, but they were definitely worse than when I played but that still aligns with my overall opinion that the ladder has gotten worse over time, not better.

But could you withstand the pressure of the recording? As mentioned, printf was top 10 in Harstem vs the world last year. But the live recording is a different beast to saddle...

I just went self cast Comet, it aint as fast, but it actualy clear quite fast. i group monsters up and wall them in and self cast a komet, got cascade and spell echo linked to it. And eye of winter with pierce, arcane tempo and soul drain. Tho soul drain i might swap for more dmg. i am current sitting at end of act 6 and doing fine. Takes some times to get used to. running with 1700 mana and archmage. Testing mindover matter at the moment, thats a little painful but saved me from oneshots if i kite too much. So it aint completely bricked and it clear zones fast enough to atleast farm gold for a full respec.
