Thank you very much! This is one of my top 3 videos for sure. Not sure if you mean the music or the camera audio but I put a lot of effort into both! I often bring a big microphone and record all kinds of sounds incase my video has bad audio. Then with the music I try to use it to set the mood and compliment the video rather than overpower it.

Actually, as a new subscriber, it was refreshing with just the nice music and spectacular scenery.....no talking! One thing I wish for more these days are clips longer than just a few seconds so one can have more time to enjoy and think about what they're looking at. This video was pretty close to that. Thanks. (About 12 years ago I camped in the Hart Mtn refuge and this vid brought back memories.)

Wow! I have recently visited this area, and will be returning in about a week. This video is very artfully done. Being more of a botanist than a wildlife biologists, I would like to have seen more on flower variety and id, but I am just being petty. @@MattCookOregon I just happened to revisit this video. Here's a tip, if you are free during this time, i.e., the months of May and June. Right now should be a great time to visit the wildflowers around Ukiah, Oregon, in the Blue Mountains. I know of a couple of great camping spots there. Great chance of seeing elk and deer as well. I spotted a cougar once. I have had recent back surgery so not as active right now, but recently returned from a two week campout in the area called Bridge Creek Wildlife Area. Either check it out for yourself, or I and/or my BIL might be available as something of a free guide.

Those sheer cliffs look like the sheer cliffs in today's open pit strip mines. They are shelved like that to prevent large rocks from rolling all the way down the slopes, which could be dangerous. We all were programmed to believe that large-scale mining operations never happened in the ancient past but that's not necessarily true. The history of the Pacific Northwest has been mostly scrubbed from the pages of the history books. The machine that cuts those sheer walls is called a bucket wheel excavator. They are about 600 feet long. In the past, they could have been steam powered or maybe there was diesel. I remember reading a 1972 World Book encyclopedia about humans emerging from caves 6,000 years ago. Haha what a lie. This planet is millions or billions of years old. Many advanced civilizations have been here.
@MattCookOregon
@MattCookOregon 2 жыл бұрын
Interesting! Our mining history is pretty well documented. But you are thinking older than a few hundred years?
@Rockstar97321
@Rockstar97321 2 жыл бұрын
@@MattCookOregon Yes... thousands or hundreds of thousands of years ago. All of the major rivers in Oregon are navigable for very long distances. That would not happen naturally. There would be waterfalls. The rivers have been engineered for river travel. Mining is the origin of civilization. That's where the rocks come from to build roads. Wherever you see those sheer cliffs, there is a river that runs through the area. Water is essential for mining, and precious minerals are at the bottoms of the rivers. Large-scale mining operations separate the precious minerals from the rocks. The Colorado River is another example. It has those stepped sheer cliffs all through it. It is mostly navigable from the Pacific Ocean to the Rocky Mountains. That is a clear sign of huge mining operations that may have spanned hundreds of thousands of years.
