Nice nature shots, thank you Jim. I'm sure it was tiring. Of course I would have preferred to look for gold if it was allowed there. Greetings Tom
@JimBairdAdventurer Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Tom, I don’t think you’re technically aloud to recreationally in the Peel watershed protection area but even if you did and you found some, you couldn’t steak a claim there. I’m my last Yukon trip I did a lot of panning and found some gold which was super exciting but my back hurt after nearly 30 hours of panning so this time, I decided it would be better to spend more time exploring the area on foot and fishing.
@Goldwaschen-mit-Tom Жыл бұрын
@@JimBairdAdventurer Hi Jim, I understand that 100%. I know your main channel is adventure. And I have the highest respect for what you're doing out there. Just the consequence, I think last year, of having to carry your equipment, boot, 8 km through the forest... WOW... great content. I'm just a little gold panner. Here in Germany there are only small gold glitter like flying pups. But it's what you make of it. I wouldn't have any view of exploiting that either. No claims to be made. But I like the idea of swinging the pan in such an area, fishing (even if I can't kill any fish) and experiencing what you show. You can simply look for wood on the beach, make a rotary grill with a string and watch the chicken spin over the fire, powered by the water. I keep catching myself thinking about going on a little boat trip with my kayak for a day or two and sleeping on the shore. That's why I'm devouring these episodes of yours. Stay healthy. Great adventure... Greetings to your family. May the dark clouds (Ukraine, Israel and anywhere else) over people disappear again...

You’re very welcome! Thanks a lot for tuning in. It was a great trek. I was carrying some extra provisions so that if I had to spend the night on the mountain I could. Some first aid stuff as well. There is always some sort of risk though.

As a mountaineer that got into white water kayaking and now back to more general wilderness adventuring of any kind, I'm loving this episode. I love your main canoe travels, but it makes this different perspective even sweeter. Keep up the adventuring Jim, I pretty much use youtube to solely watch your videos these days. Reliable down to earth adventure with some great craic :)

I can feel my ankles burning from walking up all that loose rock. We had stuff like that on the railroad tracks called ballast. 3 and 4 inch rocks that would just jiggle a little when you walked on it. After 8 hours the ankles just felt hot. I'd bet the smoke didn't make the hiking at altitude any easier either. Thanks Jim.

Bobby would be impressed with that highest of high quality H2O. 😆 Man, that was quite a treacherous climb. It looked sketchy and super steep. And the camera doesn't usually convey just how steep it is so it must have been pretty crazy at times. That had to be an amazing feeling to get up to the top and take in the view. Bonus Mountain Goat sighting as well. Awesome. Glad the trip down went without any problems. Really enjoyed this. Thanks Jim!
