Some of the best hood tours come from Neighborhood guy. No annoying narration or music to distract the viewer. Thumbs up as always.

Used to drive through the North End to get to work when I lived in CT. It was hard for me to see that. Couldn't take it, left CT and moved to Arizona. I feel for the people who can't leave.

What’s wrong with CT I live here. Definitely not in hartford though

@@mryonan5865 What's wrong with Connecticut? Well, I can list a ton of things. First let's start with the weather. It's gloomy and dreary, more cloudy days than sunny days. Winters are cold, windy and snowy and you have nor'easters. Summers are hot and muggy and it rains a lot. Let's not forget about the occasional hurricane. Second is the economy, it sucks. More companies are moving out of CT than are moving in. Then there's the taxes - CT taxes you to death, high income taxes, sales taxes and property taxes and a ton of other obscure things they tax you for. You even have property taxes on cars. Utilities are expensive. Eversource is horrible. For all the money they squeeze out of people you'd think they'd be able to fix downed power lines quickly after a storm, but for some reason it takes them days if not weeks. Third, there's nothing to do in CT, it's booooring. Fourth, the people - generally cold, aloof, rude and always in a rush. For example if you're at a red light and you don't go the second it turns green you can expect the driver behind you to blast their horn. Fourth, the major cities are dirty - there's trash on the streets, old furniture, TV's and mattresses thrown out on the sidewalks. Did I forget to mention potholes? They're all over the place and cause major damage to vehicles. Well those are the main reasons I left CT. And here's a fun fact - in Arizona we don't pay for tap water or to water our yards because water rights come with the property and that's amazing considering half the state is a desert. If you get a chance you should come out for a visit, you might decide to stay. :)

@Cresencia Aldrico Ok, let me briefly tell you what it's like. First it's not over 100 degrees everyday - only in the summer. We start getting 100 degrees and over towards the end of May and it lasts until the middle of October. In June, July and August it does get real hot, I mean 112F - 118F. But it's a different kind of heat than what you're used to in CT. The humidity is very low. I'd take 95F in Phoenix over 95F in CT any day. You have to have air conditioning where you live and in your car. But the winters are beautiful, in the 60's and 70's during the day. The Phoenix metro area is very large - about 15,000 square miles. That's about 3 times the size of Connecticut. The bus system is ok, and we have light rail but it doesn't go everywhere. Housing prices are getting expensive because of all the Californians that are moving here. For the best information check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3PMeoSGfpKIkKc And just to be fair watch this video about the cons of living in Phoenix: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJymlH1peLBjZ5Y If you have any questions get back to me. @@theyenvymajesty143 You're right. I went through Michigan years ago on my way to Canada. Always wanted to go to Detroit. Born in New Jersey, but since 11/2 lived in Springfield Massachusetts until around 10 years old. Understand that it has gotten a bit rougher since I was there but always will have a soft spot, especially since I live in NC now.

If people or owners of these buildings and took care of them along with the renters doing their part, Hartford wouldn't look so bad. You can ONLY blame these people for living the way they do. Took no pride at all. I grew up in both the North end on Main St. and Charter Oak terrace - D section. They finally just torn down COT and made affordable housing and now it looks good with people taking care of their properties. Along with Rice heights. Big difference. But the North end hasn't changed. No one cares.
