Maybe the Mayor can learn something from these good people. He needs to open his eyes to the entire city instead of ignoring specific areas thinking it will just disappear.

Panthers was a group that kept crime and drugs out of the community. They also protected the community from racist white mobs that would terrorize people. They fed children free breakfast and provided the first childcare programs. This is where free breakfast/lunch and after-school programs started. The racist fbi cointelpro exterminated the Panthers along with Mlk and malcome because being a militant, proactive black person was considered a threat.
