Two things I think you forgot, you can begin to draw a curve and hit shift while you go into the canvas and it will loop around a circular shape, if you do the same over a edgeloop in a zremeshed subtool it will loop the curve around the edgeloop, also, don't forget to disable symmetry when doing frame mesh if the curve goes beyond the symmetry line or you will create two overlapping meshes. Anyway, thanks for the video, I'm sure I'll come back to it, these are so useful but so hard to remember all the settings.

Watching the part with the scribe brush was very useful and a little frustrating thinking back to all the hardsurface pannel I cut in by hand. Just add a poly group> frame mesh polygroup> add some subD> then use the scribe.

Is there a way to get a curve line back after you click off onto the mesh? I’m guessing their probably isn’t, is there? I have a real love hate relationship with curves in zbrush, blender curves are more straight forward but very tedious (which I guess all curves are tedious if you’re placing loads of them) zbrush curves feel more fun to use but harder to control (maybe I’m just not used to them yet) I wish you could groom curves similar to fibermesh strands, now that would be awesome.
@hartgameart2 жыл бұрын
unfortunately I do not believe there is a way to get the curve back other than undo and redrawing. I agree with you though like most zbrush tools they are very powerful but have a lot of gotchas that you have to work through and learn so that you don’t trip over yourself. Sometimes if you’re struggling to hand draw a curve it might be easier to generate the curve from the edge of a mesh or polygroup instead
@CosmicComputer2 жыл бұрын
@@hartgameart yeah curve functions and frame are super handy for controlling fr, just blob out a hair shape > remesh it stupid low and crease a couple of edges, frame those and the add a hair curve… actually pretty decent workflow! Have you checked out the zbrush “image breakdown” video of the Ryu? The way the artist did the hair in that is pretty sweet!

@hart is it possible to creat a curve from mask? (and not from polygroup or crease)
@hartgameart2 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with a way to generate a curve directly from a mask but you can turn your mask into a polygroup (ctrl+w) and then generate the curve from that. It will likely give you two curves on both sides but you can just delete one. I like the idea of being able to make from straight from a mask stroke though, that would be cool
@Vorpal_Wit2 жыл бұрын
For some bizarre reason my CURVE SNAP function no longer works. The initial point of the curve sticks to the surface, but the rest of the curve will conform to current screen plane. Even manipulating the curve after drawing , it doesn't snap to the surface. I have no idea whats going on. Its really made working with curves all but useless for me.
@hartgameart2 жыл бұрын
That's super weird. I'll mess around with it and let you know if I can figure out a reason why. It could be related to focal shift but I'm not positive
@rilijohnmichael2 жыл бұрын
Maybe under picker menu, under depth, you have ONCE Z on, if you have CONT Z on it will continue to snap to surface, if once z is on instead the inital point of the curve is the only point where it will stick.

there is something that is driving me crazy about all curve brushes in Zbrush : How the Hell do i get rid of the dotted line after i applied a tube to a modell?
@nluan7112 жыл бұрын
That would be here kzbin.info/www/bejne/eH2XZ4SkmstphJI
@erichart82132 жыл бұрын
It’s not immediately clear but you should be able to tap on the model you’re drawing your curve on to delete the line. If that doesn’t work you can go to stroke>curve functions>delete and it will clear those up for you
@SubrosaRose11 ай бұрын
I dont think Tab is the original hotkey for deleting curve.
