Good morning. I was wondering if you’ve given any thought to having ornamental concrete/stone benches, much like your fountains, around the Hartley? Seems iron would get very hot in the sun and upkeep on the metal would be ongoing. Just a thought! Your flower shed is just beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

Just love it when you take us along on your journey. The Hartley gardens are going to be beautiful. ❤️ Regarding the interior flower shed walls, you might consider using a paint wash. It's a good medium between paint and the wood. Opaque enough to hide the orange, but sheer enough to show the wood grains.

You paint that wood girl! No one needs orange pine in their lives… not since 1979! Love the video… you inspired me to get a larger glasshouse and, although I’ve purposed mine a bit differently to your Hartley plans, I’ve incorporated ‘living’ space so it has some conservatory vibe as well. Thanks for your amazing videos and taking us all on the journey!

💕💜 Everything looks like it's coming together, that must feel really good. Glad you found some lights that you're happy with (I like them too...). Hi Laura, Your vision is beautiful! There is a lovely balance of flow and symmetry, with so much interest in each garden room. I feel it is sometimes hard to convey what a creator sees in their mind, but you did a fabulous task of it. Looking forward to the development and adjustments as you make progress on your design. PS: Just a couple of tiny suggestions for your flower shed, which I hope are in line with your vision: have you thought about “white washing” your walls in your colour of choice - that way you will keep some of the beautiful veins of the wood and achieve a softer look you need in photos. The wallpaper is beautiful. Once the walls are painted, you can always line the back of your armoires with the wallpaper and it will still feature beautifully in this room.

I get wanting the benches but the placement doesn't create a place for conversation. I would also go with a slimmer console table. I think that round table will suck up the space and make it tighter than anticipated...especially when you're actually sitting there. Getting around the chairs might be tough. But of course none of this means a hill of beans...your Hartley, do what you want.

Looks beautiful! Just wanted to say in case you didn’t know or no one else mentioned. Take a look at the bottom of candles you are burning. A lot of glass candles shouldn’t be burned for more than a few hours at a time or they may shatter. I wouldn’t want it to shatter and hurt anyone who might be near by. The sticker at the bottom will usually say how long is safe to burn for.

Also if a candle is left unattended, an accident could happen, like a cat getting inside and knocking it over or could be anything...the thought that a led candle would be much safer at night came to mind when she mentioned looking at the flickering flame at night from the house. Made me cringe.

She has real decision making problems, doesn't she? I mean some of the things she has had done could have been completed ages ago! And I understand she can take as much time as she wants because it's her property but my Lord. You took the time (A LOT OF TIME, MONTHS & MONTHS) scouring the internet & stores for the perfect lights....(LIGHTS PEOPLE)....for the potting shed and you come across some that you really like, so you order them. You then have to wait for them to be delivered, and when they arrive you leave them sitting in the boxes for weeks because you're no longer sure if they're to your liking...sighhhh! 🤦🏾‍♂🙄 I honestly don't see how Aaron has the patience to put up with something like that lol.

Just had the epiphany watching June 2018 garden tour and this one at the same time. You could place your black benches from the formal garden porch outside the Hartley, gives you style and multiples. Do love the rocking one currently in it's place, can you tell the brand again? ETA- The iron gate from prior triangle garden would be stunning as the new land entry. Keep on, keeping on you're doing a beautiful, graceful display of gardening! 💚👍👩‍🌾

Do you know "Flower Hill Farm" youtube, great gal that works very hard at her Flower Farm and just recently bought a very broken down Nursery in her Village, (town). I watch her sporadically. You two are so different in style, climate, probably experience, but you are spot on the same when it comes to your work ethics, family and heart. She was so embarrassed because tears fell as she was announcing her purchase of this awful Nursery, a dream for her. Hey Laura here's an IDEA... You can take that gorgeous green vintage print, thick paper, glue it smooth and tight to a large sheet of Luanne (thin wood), frame with a neutral color to match the chairs, hang between the 2 cupboards, then... inside you can randomly, hang tilted framed small photos, more colorful of maybe memorable moments of the children in the flower gardens, cats and / or photos of the cutting flower gardens, progressing over the years. I would make the vintage green paper as large as you can possibly get it ! Kind of a really neat focal point and bring about some neat conversations and share time with all who enter in. Blessings from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania !

Perhaps a vinyl or oilcloth on the chairs would work nicely so the dust can be removed easily?

I love how, during the 7npacking of the crates, several pieces sporadically put a smile on your face as the memory of when you purchased it and with whom came back. I see many from the antiquing with your mom! that was sweet to watch 💞

Put trailing/draping plants on each side of the countertop and no one will see the height difference between the brick edge and the higher countertop! Regardless, it's all spectacular!!❣

Love, love, love all of this! It’s really starting to look great. A couple of ideas for the shed - maybe a small glass front fridge for cold drinks. And a small enclosed set of doors/cabinet on the back of the shed to store tools? Finally, maybe consider cutting a small door on the back wall somewhere for easy access to the back of the shed so you don’t have to always walk around. Just some thoughts.

A secret door maybe? Use one of the hutches and hinge it...

Ooh, I love the formality around the Hartley. Can't wait to see it come together. Why not go with a semi-trans stain on the flower shed walls? That way you can change the color, but let the beauty of the wood shine through. If you're gonna paint, you could've just gone with drywall. Much cheaper.

Yes, respect the beauty of the wood with a semi-transparent light green wash. Painting that interesting wood pattern would be criminal giving you the boring look of drywall.

I would like to put in my two cents worth on paint color--Spring Lilac by Benjamin Moore. I's a soft color and should be good for skin tones when filming. Also, Rock Harbor Violet (also Benjamin Moore). It is almost a gray but not quite.

Love love love your cut flower shed!!! Maybe a light whitewash to keep the wood grain would help you love the space. So much character ♥️

it just proves that those greenhouses are not meant to have a kitchen worktop in them, but at the end of the day if you want it...then you have to put up with the aesthetic intrusion and space hogging. Call me old fashioned but I'd rather see some nice vintage staging for pots which ironically could have similar legs to Laura's counter. But with three tables it will be like a furniture showroom. Let's see some plants in there soon, please. Love the formality and symmetry of the design outside the greenhouse...probably makes a good case for keeping the existing box nearby and maybe just repairing the damaged fountain.

I Agree ... Four (4) Table/Counter Surfaces, Each Piece Being Of A Substantial Size And Of A Different Style ... Is Too Much For The Space Given Inside The Hartley.
