Director has nothing to do with it, author wrote this. And akihiko is not an asshole. And in real life people are complex.. when author captures it well in the story they become so real. Given captures all the complex emotions really well. I get the sa part though, but sometimes it is done just to make the plot heavy. Well in manga/anime they use this sa part too much, I don't get it too.

Akihiko is indeed an asshole for using haruki feeling and even trying for SA which is disgusting, but then akihiko is a gigolo and fuck up in his own way, if only akihiko grovel more and i don’t know getting hurt first before he gets forgiven, the getting together part would have been more fullfiling but oh Well the author choose not to smh😮‍💨
