The barbarians are at the gates, and we created them. The kids who’ve terrorized speakers on college campuses and HR departments in Fortune 100 companies. The kids who scream and cry and throw temper tantrums on TikTok over trivial encounters with ideas they dislike. The kids who believe speech is violence AND silence is violence. The kids who took to the streets and burned our cities after the death of one man, yet now come out in explicit support of the barbaric murder of more than 1400 innocent civilians in Israel.
Why call them “kids”? Because they are OUR kids. And it’s OUR fault.
We’ve coddled and encouraged a generation of barbarians through both intentional activism, confusion, and neglect. We’ve allowed our education institutions from K-through-PhD to be captured by the enemies of civilization itself and transformed into barbarian incubators. Our media and politics have not only cheered this on, but profiteered from it at every turn.
And now, they are the barbarians inside our gates. And if we don’t do something about this right now, they will tear civilization itself to the ground. As a father of a high school senior, our family is looking at all of this in shock and horror. The stakes for my son’s future are high. And the stakes for our civilization are even higher.

Hello friends, if you appreciated this message, check out the follow up here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5iboa2Zq7drl7s this video was first posted over at our original channel Emergent Order, home to our Keynes vs. Hayek rap videos. Because of how important and personal this message felt, I wanted to make sure it reached the widest possible audience and decided at the last minute to post it there due to its 80k+ subs. And it did start reaching people, reaching nearly 70K viewers in just 48 hours and a really heartening conversation in the comments. And then KZbin's "age restriction" system kicked in, completely silencing the video. From 2,500 views an hour to 25 to almost zero overnight. We've removed the tiny handful of images we think could have triggered this, all pulled from news clips which as we speak are still very much available from corporate legacy "news" media on KZbin without age restrictions RIGHT NOW. For new viewers, I hope this video spurs an even greater and equally civil conversation to the one that began on the original post! If you want to see the original, age-restricted version of this video and explore the comments, click here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoS3ZmqhjLmloqssi=cChndIaItxdJ3zd_ - with respect, John.

I read the book “Lord of the Flies” well over half a century ago and wondered if kids would really act barbaric like that if left alone, cast away on an island. Could they ever really be this way? Now I see, and as a high school student long ago, if someone described these major schools in America as this way, I’d be too stunned to believe it.

Wonder no longer. I used the same comparison of today's youth to both "LORD OF THE FLIES" and "A CLOCKWORK ORANGE". They don't need to be on an island...they are committing atrocities NOW, especially in our inner-cities. Most notably in black communities in Chicago. Now we have imported foreign savages in numbers equal to the population of one of our suburbs.

As an older woman I'm shocked at how college aged kids behave. I think this man was spot on in his assessments of our youth. It breaks my heart to see my Grandchildren spend all day in front of a screen. They are NOT learning how the world works and allowing your children to spend all day inside and IN front of a screen is so harmful. My household while I was raising children did not have a T.V. hooked up, my kids spent their time working (chores) or playing outside. I also spent time with them swimming, hiking, just doing things. Kids' are being raised by a computer and this is so sad, computers do NOT love

It's not about computers you moron, it's about identity politics, coddling our youth with safe spaces, and colleges allowing these terrible practices. Can I just say that I am from the Dominican Republic and seeing you speak on Claudine Gay's political views was very interesting. You shouldn't be surprised by her statements. She is Haitian American and Haitian Americans have opportunistically hopped on the woke train because it takes away their accountability for destroying their own country while they blame everyone else for their troubles. I've been keeping an eye on her, and when I saw that she was going to be Harvard's new president, I took a deep breath and prepared myself for more anti-Dominican propaganda. While Haitians in DR murder, steal, rape Dominicans, and challenge our authorities, Haitian Americans are desperately trying to find nonexisting parallels between the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to hop on the wave of misinformation and victimization to demonize the Dominican Republic because we're deporting them (we have more than 2 million undocumented Haitians in D.R.). They claim the entire island belongs to them, when this is false and accuse us of all sorts of things when none of it is true. We're just trying to protect ourselves from the chaos that brews in Haiti. This is great content and the editing is superb!

Thank you for pointing this out. While the Haitians may have been correct in throwing out the French, they then descended into unspeakable barbarism, or so I have been able to learn. If I am wrong, please correct me. However, what was once called the Jewel of the Caribbean, is now a self imposed violent gang ruled third world country. I feel for the people but generations of corrupt governance has left it desolate.

@@robertconlon101 yeah we have plenty of issues of with them, they did slaughter all the French but after that they started fighting with each other and they’ve been doing so for the last 200+ years and it has completely destroyed Haiti. These never-ending civil wars between them have caused several international interventions which have exacerbated their problems. They created a black republic and rejected all European traditions, meanwhile the Dominican side has evolved into a mixed race, mixed culture society and for this they look down upon us. We have millions of undocumented Haitians in DR, which can potentially destabilize us (I’m surprised it hasn’t), and they have a campaign on social media calling the deportations “ethnic cleansing” and “genocide” which couldn’t be further from the truth. They’ve also brought a cholera outbreak to the Dominican side.

Sis also said the university has gotten even worse since her daughter graduated a few years ago. As a retired educator I watched the shift from academic excellence to tell us how you feel… gang mentality instead of individual achievement…all win and no healthy competition to arrive at a true winner. Revisionist history!!! Academics sliding to a lower priority while situational ethics soars! Schools are overwhelmed with efforts to civilize the students they receive in the hope of creating thinking, thoughtful, teachable students. The inability to listen, think, research, and respect others has been replaced with extreme intolerance… the stance of not listening to anything but themselves because obviously anything anyone else has to say is wrong. On and on…entitled arrogant students with parents that cheer them over the cliff…exhausting!!!! It all goes back to parents that have no clue how to parent…train your child…turn off electronics.. set healthy boundaries, communicate…parents may be shocked to discover the twisted beliefs of immature minds!!!! Or maybe not!!! 😩

You really drilled a lot of the essentials there. We drug everyone down to the lowest common denominator, then beat down those who tried to rebel against that... Did you know I used to get yelled at constantly for reading too far ahead in class because I was bored. I once shut a teacher up in eigth grade when she was trying to teach intro paragraph structure AGAIN and I was doing something else... When she called me out she said: "Well if you know this stuff alreafy then you teach the class then!" So I got up, went to the board, and explained leading sentences, bulleting the three main effective strategies in order of commonality: informative, hook, question... I was halfway through explaining hooks when she let me get back to reading and continued to repeat it. I'm 29 now, so this was somewhere in the late 2000s.

@@davidsellers3639 I believe schools and social discourse in general must allow for light and dark, good and evil. A world where everyone is forced to 'be nice' (which is what this is becoming) isn't allowing for genuine human compassion. This is what their so-called "Marxism" is at it's core. Yes, it's total barbarism now that I think of it. I don't think the Ivy league schools were caustic and ideologically biased in former times. These schools actually grew from groups arising from the Upper New York valley, an area where metaphysicians, intellectuals, and the offspring of the pilgrimage from England arose. They may have connections further back to a people who were far more knowledgeable and wise. We're working with the remnants of this 'root', and it seems to all depend on what happens with the US. These folks had to reinvent to outmoded ideals of the pilgrims to a new awareness of what people could accomplish. This is being circumvented of course by the industrial and technological 'corps', an army of people who have turned themselves into human robots. They 'demand' their rights to be what they are, and people have only the choice of not becoming as they are.

When I first heard conservatives or Limbaugh talking about "political correctness", I was baffled. What's wrong with being correct, factually or politically? I DIDN'T KNOW this was about the USSR and its American minions turning around on a dime from one argument to the opposite, and telling Leftists that the truth didn't matter, what mattered was whether a narrative advanced USSR or not. I did not understand Marxism and I certainly did not understand neo-Marxism.

Bravo ! Love this video. I was instantly reminded of the day my father took me to the Auditorium Maximum of our local university here in Germany. It was 1975 and I was 15 years old, the General Secretary of the German conservative party (CDU) had been invited to speak. Well in the end I and also everybody else did not understand a word because of the yelling and the whistles and the complete chaos that arose. My father who was the dean of his faculty of economics was no fan of the conservatives rather a liberal, taught me a lesson that day for which I have always been grateful. As you point out in this video nothing has changed since - the Barbarians never disappeard since the student revolts of the sixties, and worse they are now teaching the young and writing the curricula. Ideas and ideals are important, Germans have been creative as inventors, philosophers, musicians and scientists for centuries before there even was a German state - the ideologies on the other hand that were created on German soil such as Communism and National Socialism almost destroyed us. That is all I personnally need to know on this topic....

No historical book in that department was anything but pro-Communist, not even regular social democrat, just pure Marxism and Leninism. A few of the professors even had a textbook that taught that Stalin was only misunderstood. It's depressing to see how far down education has become. However, the reality is many children come from broken homes, many more come from homes with both parents working full time. His story is particularly interesting because he was raised by a severely personality disordered mother and himself became a major social justice warrior until eventually realizing that his fellow travellers were displaying a lot of the characteristics that his mother did, extreme self-absorption, poor impulse control, cruelty etc. I think that you and your viewers will find him quite interesting. Maybe a bit loony himself, but super smart and he makes a good argument. My guess is that this epidemic of psychologically damaged children likely would not exist if so many children were not raised in fatherless homes, which fits with your emphasis on being such a good father to your children. Traditional stuff I know but as one wise person opined recently “traditions are experiments that worked.”

So many times I wonder how many of these "kids" grew since young age on ADHD, anxiety and depression medication, combined with way too much screen time, and what kind of brain functions were permanently affected by that combination of poorly tested psychiatric medications + screen bombardment that turned a portion of the youth into near-schizos.

Spot on! Thank you for posting. Words really can’t capture the culture today. 2 Timothy 3:1-6 in the Bible written over 2000 years ago says, “1 ¶ But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”

Of all the countries I've lived in, Italy provides the best social and cultural environment for raising kids. The Italian kids I've worked with have been the most well-rounded, mature, and fun kids I've ever met.

A college professor in a state where I don't feel comfortable even discussing certain topics because one I don't feel like I have academic freedom anymore and seondly,I am not in a tenured position. I have noticed a radical shift in the tone of the students that makes me incredibly uncomfortable. There is no support to push back against what many of us perceive to be a kind of passive- aggressive anger with facts that don't fit a preferred narrative. I would never speak to people the way I am spoken to. If I had even used the tone of voice I now hear, I would have been told to leave the classroom and my career would have been over. How have we gotten here?

Wow. My first exposure to your channel. Thank you, thank you, grazie mille for your intelligent presentation of the state of our North American society today. I'm not a parent, but you and your wife's approach to raising your son gives me hope for future civilization. I agree wholeheartedly with the carefully considered road you have clearly consistently taken with bringing up your child. I am entirely confident that your son's future happiness and success will continue to blossom and grow in the golden light of your constant care and love.

Yes. This is how the oligarchy breaks down the family. It's demonic. Then on social media the psychiatric community convinces the teens that their parents are toxic and abusive because they are conservative. Everything is "abuse". Even simply having different opinions is "abuse".

I was vacationing in Cancun Mexico in October 2004 and I had a drink with a psychiatrist from abroad that was also vacationing. He told me what was going on in the United States and the cause. He told me what it was going to lead to and he was spot on. It's a deep wound. And I could sure thread the needle, where others could begin to sew up the wound. But a couple of psychiatrists in the United States that were not born in the United States said that people are not ready to know.

Thank you for diving into the definitions and important aspects of being CIVIL. I have avoided the 20 somethings like a plague for next to 20 years - - since leaving college myself I have had no inclination to be around students - - and their next stage of life when encountered either as coworkers in the service sector I have participated in for a living or as store merchants cashing me out - - - dealing with them is always fraught with frustration and feeling of alienation / disconnect. But now we arrive at an implosion / massive melting point - - and I see their self satisfied disfunction like a sludge layer that is suffocating the land. I am a sensitive humanist - who delved deep into eastern spiritual matters and environmental concerns before it was fashionable - way back in the 90's. Today I have been moved and called to better understand the political landscape because of the horrendous alarming torque our democratic social system has arrived at - - so spun out and pulled tight - that it is in full whiplash mode and everything is being flung off like flotsam and jetsam - including civil discourse and the waft and weft of social fabric. These 20 somethings complain about me as a neighbor if I have knocked on their door ! - - To ask for help or offer it -- - They literally call the landlord and say it's an invasion of privacy for me to KNOCK ON THEIR DOOR ! I am a loner - isolated - trauma survivor - with no interest whatsoever in melding or tangling with the affairs of others. To become a pariah in a multi dwelling house because these young people do not know how to interact with their immediate environment - - is TELLING. It is my personal taste of the flavor of the world they are creating. Where they spread contact paper over all their windows - - smoke pot to self sooth and are both "open minded'' and Completely ANITSOCIAL simultaneously. It has to be seen - lived next to - to be believed. I am scared for humanity.
