What is the impact of immigration on the U.S. economy? Jason Furman, Ph.D. ’04, Aetna Professor of the Practice of Economic Policy at Harvard Kennedy School and the Department of Economics, examines the economic effects of immigration in the United States since COVID-19. Furman previously served as Chief Economic Advisor to President Obama, where he played a key role in shaping the administration’s fiscal policy, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly known as ObamaCare. He was appointed the twenty-eighth Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers in August 2013 and served until 2017.
