That beautiful golden retriever hit the jackpot when he was abandoned and you adopted him. I am so glad that the previous owners didn't come back to claim him. He's living a life that most dogs could only dream of.

66-06 is one of the hottest dekalb numbers as of lately. It has to be the April corn. May planted corn hit the pollination period perfect, when we had the cool temps and a few rains, I think it was a hot June/early July.

I'm sure someone has already said, but you can adjust the yeild calibration on the s series combines, I assume the x series is similar. If you use active yeild, go to calibration, then active yield, then set up (upward arrow with dot above it). Then, you can adjust it by the percentage you're off based on scale readings.

for me, working on Sunday depends on the time of year and what's going on that weekend, plus if I'm staying at my parents while they're out of town, I work for my grandfather and both my grandparents and parents live right next to each other on the farm, i moved out a while back and drive back to work, and I have something going on on the farm i'll normally work before going home on Sunday.

I’m trying to remember which farm did it, but they put a skunk THROUGH the combine. Brian Brown got a deer in the corn head. That was bad, the skunk through the combine was horrible. My eyes watered just watching it. They couldn’t get the stink out no matter how hard they tried.
@davedammitt76912 ай бұрын
Yep. I smoked a skunk with my old CJ5, and it stunk (stank?) for weeks. And it's a lot easier to wash an old Jeep than it would be the inside of a combine.
@chrissyfrancis89522 ай бұрын
@@davedammitt7691 exactly. I had 3 labs who thought it’d be fun to toss a skunk back & forth like a toy at midnight once. They spent the night in their garage kennels. Idk how they could stand their mouths full of it. They frothed for days. Hardest part to clean was their faces & mouths. Disgusting. That & porcupine encounters cost me a lot of Vet visits.

Unbelievable, u got cat in with chickens....thought the cat would have meat on its mind atrippy. I know a lot about chickens, cattle too...tended to both . I dont see a lot of u large farmers raising feeder steers ?. I know its more work, would it not offset low corn pices
@aTrippyFarmer2 ай бұрын
Some farms exited the cattle business years ago and never looked back. Others stayed the course to keep balance. A lot of farms are bringing cattle back into the operation nowadays to help pay for extra labor. We might look at that eventually.

We are screwed either way. But it is really sad that people don't understand the policies They're voting for because they're blinded by political affiliation. It's crazy to think that people think trump or kamala is going to save them. Retards. Both parties are terrible for ag.
@stevenarnold39352 ай бұрын
So Trump was the reason for low grain prices before he was president.
@davedammitt76912 ай бұрын
It does sound weird. What were grain prices in 2017, 2018, and 2019, compared to now? Did corn prices shoot through the roof once Trump was out of office? No. That's really all you need to know. It just shocks me that any multi-generational family farmer would ever vote Democrat. Obviously, the savvy ones put their land in a trust, but for those who don't, the Democrat proposal for 'death taxes' could decimate even medium size farms. The Proposal is to put massive taxes on any estate over $3.5 million. For good Midwest farm ground, $3.5 mil would buy 200 acres. 1,000 acres is isn't big farm at all, and that's worth $18 mil. Just in land alone, not counting any buildings or equipment. Can you imagine that your father, who owns 2,000 acres, handed down through many generations, dies without a trust? Kamala wants 55% on $3.5 million to 13 million, and 60% from $ 13 mil to $93 mil. So, The heirs of a farmer who dies without a trust, and handed down 2,000 acres, would owe $21 million in estate taxes. I'm pretty sure there's not a 2000 Acre Farm in the country that has $21 million in cash sitting around to give to the IRS
