You're here because you want to know something. You can't explain why you want it, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with school. You don't really care about grades or about tests, but still there's a hunger, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to KZbin, compelled to learn when you "should" be studying. Do you know what I'm talking about? To follow the rabbit out of the edu-matrix, read Piotr Wozniak's *Problem of Schooling*. Learn to recognize boredom as mental pain, to respect your innate and inalienable desire for knowledge, and to begin deprogramming from a system that teaches you that learning is unfun. supermemo.guru/wiki/Problem_of_Schooling Marketing-speak (and references to movies you might not have seen) aside, I absolutely hated school and didn't really learn how to learn until discovering flashcard software like Anki and Wozniak's Supermemo. (I'm not trying to get you to buy anything. Anki is free software, Supermemo has a reasonably cheap current version but you shouldn't upgrade until you've established a habit using the older freeware.) I taught myself a decent chunk of foreign languages, including Japanese reading comprehension, using Anki. Last year, Wozniak wrote a book contrasting school and what he knows about human memory from his life's research. School does not look good.

Honey bees are one of the most interesting animals in the world. Humans have been domesticating them forever, yet we have no idea how they communicate. Just goes to show how amazing evolution is. These bees evolved to produce something humans love in a way that humans can collect it, and as a result humans now feed them and house them and protect them. Bees have domesticated humans as much as we have domesticated them.
@yulandoleo20105 жыл бұрын
After saying how humans still don't understand how bee communicate because and that bees produce something humans love. I never expected to hear anything about evolution. All that had to be designed. Evolution can not produce such order. All that is intelligent design. Not random and chaotic. _______________________________ Psalm 19:1-3 1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. _______________________________ We would never see a Ferrari and say it spontaneously came together from scraps of metal all by itself. We would say it was designed by intelligent beings. So it is that the awesomeness of nature proves the existence of the Awesome, Almighty God.
@halbyg42915 жыл бұрын
Yulando Leo well, read a book (other than those of the bible). Try "On the Origin of Species". I hear that's a favorite among educated people. And if God created the earth and all being on it, why did he only make a small fraction of all humans who ever existed believe in him? Did he design only some people right and others were somehow flawed? Well, I guess he isn't an all-knowing God then is he? Why is it that most humans on earth today don't believe in him and for the last few hundred thousand years (45-200 thousand years) most every human being has believed in some other God than the Judeo-Christian one. But the Judeo-Christian God he's only existed for about 3000 years, only only to a very small minority of people. And the Christian religion has only existed - I'm sure you know, having read the bible - for just over 2000 years. How likely is it - do you think - that the current, Christian God is the true God out of the hundreds of thousands of gods that have been believed in by many people for hundreds of thousands of years? Or is it possible that science actually shows us the truth: all religion is wrong, and there is a rational explanation for everything?

This made me walk directly to my jar of raw honey and dig out a big spoon full. Something about one big spoonful of that raw honey a day. If you don't have it, you'll get the reminder like this one here right now. I would love to keep bees myself but my slope of hillside seems to be a joy for wasps. Great for targeting garden pests like bull worms but they probably do less favors mid-high season. Even if I drove them off my land I'd still be surrounded.

You have probably heard this several times over, but if you raise the sifter over the bucket and at the same time, use a cone shaped sifter that is much longer then the sifter that you currently use. You will be able to strain the honey from the wax much faster. (My father is a bee keeper) and my Cousin is the cheerman (Or something like that) for bee keepers here in Denmark. :) Nice handling of the queen and a nice video! :)

These bees are domesticated and have been bred for ‘being nice” or “not getting mean” you are in no more danger here than you are sitting with a big dog . They have been bred over the centuries to be docile so you are pretty much safe around them as long as u mind your own business.

Whatever you do, start with a minimum of two hives, just in case you lose a queen. I started with three nucs and I bought a 35 hive farm last year. I now have a 130 hive farm in just over 14 months. Decide what you want to do and go for it.

My dad was a bee keeper when he was living I use to love helping him with it cleaning the racks and supers. Then he would what he called prime the hive with starter wax god how I miss it. It was the best tasting stuff ever we even chewed the comb he didn't have a bee suit just a head cover and gloves. Back when he was doing it the bees would come to the post office he would go down to the post office tell them he had bees coming and to call when they came. One time they switched post masters and they didn't tell her and she heard the humming in the package she opened it and he had to go and get them out of the post office. It was good times I miss it dearly.

Dillons Woodworks They generally don’t sting at all unless weather is bad or I bang them around accidentally. If they sting a finger it’s usually because I mash one. I do have a couple of hives that I have to wear gloves with because they can get testy.

When I uncap, I start at the bottom and tilt the frames and the cut wax just falls off of the frames. No need to struggle with pulling it from the face of the frame. I use a 1 x 2 with a nail in the center to keep the frames above your uncapping bucket. Good video.
