Loved this video! Very wise the way you go about all this! I live in a city so I try to support local! But I do buy butternut squash,etc from Costco (3 in a bag). They are alot cheaper and they store well. We had a blizzard today up here in central Canada. Winter coats and boots are all out.

You can twist the leeks or onions until the roots break (easy peasy) and then pull them

Do you cure your potatoes or put them straight into storage? Great video!

Hi! We get almond flour and cane sugar from Costco and coconut flour from a local store (usually the bob's red mill brand). We have this Vitamix blender and LOVE it (worth the investment in our opinion). amzn.to/3JRcZ3s We have the nutrimill harvest grain mill. This is the link. collabs.shop/ptqt7c (Use code FROMSCRATCH for $20 off). Thanks for watching and your sweet words of encouragement!

This is so nice! I try to grow as much as possible for myself for winter as well. What zone are you in? I like the idea of leaving the potatoes in the ground until the end of October. Do I have to pull them in before the first frost? Winters are brutal here🇨🇦
@FromScratchFarmstead
@FromScratchFarmstead 4 ай бұрын
We are in Zone 5b. You wouldn't need to pull them before the first frost. They'll be find underground. We just make sure to grab them before any hard freeze sets in.

Here in thw Scottish Highlands and Islands, our October holiday’ was for potato lifting. We always had two weeks off (as kids - now it’s only a week), because that job was a family, and a time consuming, job that needed done.
