Harvesting and Preparing Sea Asparagus - 3 Ways!

Here are 3 ways we use sea asparagus in our meals. During spring and summer months we are fortunate to have an abundance of sea asparagus right on our property shoreline (Central Coast of BC, Canada). We love sea asparagus (especially fried up - they taste like crunchy green beans! With loads of nutritional value this is a great addition to any meal or snack.
Pickling Recipe (makes 6 Qt sized jars or 12 pint jars)
Ingredients for Pickling Brine:
8 cups water
1/3 cup granulated sugar
6 Tbsp pickling salt (or 1/3 cup)
8 cups white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
Pickling spices - mustard seeds, coriander, bay leaves, dill seeds
Additional Jar Ingredients (optional)
Peppercorns
Garlic cloves or garlic scapes
Ginger
Chilli
Horseradish root

Do you get "goose tongue" down your way? We have a place in Southeast Alaska and I'm not familiar with Sea Asparagus, but it reminds me of harvesting Goose Tongue. I prefer early growth -- it's nice and salty.

Oh I have never heard of it! I just googled it, I have seen it around here, so we will definitely try it in the spring! The sea asparagus is also better in the early growth stage too. Thanks for the tip!
