Now this has just made my day. The first combine I ever operated was the Clayson M135, the slightly bigger brother to the M122. Loved my time on it except when the wind was blowing the dust off the header into my face. Great video and loved the old NH 68 baler too. I have liked and subscribed and off to see you other videos. Thanks from Scotland.

The baler is amazing to me. It has stood the test of time and the principal of the modern baler is identical... And ever bale out of her looked uniform.

We did the sums on this baler a few moths ago. It’s 65 years old and we reckon it has done over 500,000 bales in its lifetime.

Great video, you're content is really good. Brings me back to the days of stacking straw in the fields. I used to hate the sound of the baler and the slay leaving piles of best for stacking. You have the NewHolland running well. Keep the videos coming.

@@kevinflood8212 thanks for watching 😀. I love my little 68 got it fixed up after it had a temper tantrum with the heavy hay crop.

great video love your combine and bailer as a kid i use to stack them in 8 for a perry loader the top two always seem so high ,50 years later still picking up little bales but now we have a flat 8 sledge , ah progress! still love doing it tho
@TheClassicFarmer3 ай бұрын
A flat 8 will be on my cards somewhere in the future. I always find the straw easy to sell straight out of the baler rows so I let the customers do the hard work

Great old machine 👍 how often can you grow oats on the same land before you have issues ?
@TheClassicFarmer21 күн бұрын
I wouldn’t go anymore than 2 years. A good crop rotation is key

You so need a bale sledge! your making it much harder work without. I remember when flat eight first came along (1980 ish to us) , "manor from heaven" and so much easier even than the basic sledge we used up until then. (flat 8 sledge,flat grab, 48? bale squeeze trailer) Even a basic sledge and perry loader (upright) bale grab would make the work easier. Keep an eye on the sales and auctions. 👍

We have a sledge but find it more hassle than it’s worth going long distances to small fields for 200 odd bales. We get around the lifting of them by selling from the row in the field when possible. The customers think they are getting it cheaper but in reality they just save us hassle and work.

Brilliant video was the oats under sown with grass seed seemed to be a lot of grass in the crop
@TheClassicFarmer2 ай бұрын
Yes most of our oat crops are under sown with grass

Old school harvesting 💪👍 only thing I don't agree with is not using a bale sledge of some kind make bale handling a whole lot easier 🤔👌
@TheClassicFarmer3 ай бұрын
Funnily enough I actually have a sledge there but it’s more hassle than it’s worth for a couple of hundred bales at a time 🙈. I get out of the manual work with the straw 😂 by selling the bales as they fall in the field
