Harvesting in the village. One day in Ukrainian countryside

No one visited our house in the village for about 3 months. I harvested a large crop of apples, pears, walnuts and potatoes. I decided to cook a favorite dish of my childhood - baked apples with honey for dinner.

A beautiful homestead, Alina. Fences seem common in the villages and lend an atmosphere of privacy and pride of ownership. The apple harvester is new to me and very ingenious. Everything in Ukraine is done with practicality in mind. The wood stoves inside the home maximizes the heat produced as opposed to the exterior brick chimneys common in North America. Very relaxing to watch you harvesting nature's bounty that took years of work to develop . Walnut trees are rare in Canada but provide a valuable and nutritious crop. Sad that people are leaving the village lifestyle and have to endure the lunatic Putin's terrorism. Blessings to all Ukrainians, Alina !

The best way to preserve fruit When it is ripe, hide it under a pile of straw Dry grass, after a week, smells good and ripens very well. Best in a dark place under dry grass🍐🍐
