good video mate. The key to prevent blight is airflow, blight spores are carried on the air so the more airflow the better and don't get foliage wet and you should do much better

Hello mate, not seen you for a year now. You might remember me three 😊years ago when I became interested in your ‘Woodchip’ planting. I had an allotment of virgin ground, solid compact grass. A lot of work until you and Charles Dowding came along with your no dig ideas. I set up a growing place 12’ x 8’ x 2’ deep of pure wood hip, no fertiliser at all. Every single plot holder said not to, you said “Try it”. My first harvest of spuds was not wonderful but produced enough to give the next year a go. The second year harvest was very good. I did not use any other matter except woodchip, I was selective in that I made sure the woodchip was not from Pine. I think the second year was good because the woodchip had broken down a lot, I had to top it up with loads of fresh woodchip. I’ll health has forced me to give up the allotment six months ago so no more experimental growing. Suffice to say that your advice on growing methods was pretty much spot on, depending on what crop you want to grow. I’m curious though. What happened to the watering experiment in your greenhouse, you were trying to make a sort of self recirculating system where hear from the compost forced water around the system.

Hi Graham, i'm really glad to hear from you, sorry to hear about your health. I couldn't quite manage the self circulating system, so i thing the need of a pump would be necessary, because of the scale and lack of light i think the effort didn't justify the results. I might have a larger scale project coming up i might try it in that

Thank you so much for your videos. I am a new gardener and learning lots from you. I had blight in a couple of my containers. What can I do with the compost? I don’t want to waste it.

You can reuse the compost, blight is airborne and over winters on living tissue Take a look at these suggestions for reusing compost kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIOmhXWmgJ50i7c

this is the second year I have tried the straw and grass cuttings method, last year was a good result almost 1 to 10 , this year looks about as good but I'm waiting a bit longer this year because I think I was a bit too early last year so this year - end of Sept to start harvesting, the variety is "Linda" it's a very popular German type that farmers can no longer sow because the patent ran out but a private gardener can still buy the seed potatoes, it is an all-rounder with a long storage time,I can highly recommend it - Pflanzkartoffel 'Linda

Its strange you make this comment😂. It's not going to be a professional glossed up video and it doesn't need to be, its has its own merits and own viewership. For this guy its clearly about family, memory, information sharing and passion for gardening and that is great to see. Of course we would all love high quality videos but it's about how much time and money you want to put into them.
