It's so cool to watch a skilled operator work... that Bobcat ripper claw is insane!!! The brush cutter, for ballast was awesome. Holy crow... I think I would have used my tiller but, you use what you got.

Get you a rock crusher 🤯 now I need a rock hill. Man the list is getting big for my dream property 🤣.

I would be using my brush grapple to sift out the smaller rocks and move the larger rocks. I’ve already tackled one project where I used the grapple to remove a stone foundation and load them on my trailer. I later used the grapple to move my pile of rocks over to my new wall project.

Your rick hill reminds me of one in lease I had in Texas cleared out a food plot area with the owner and we moved a pile of rocks longer and higner than his 60 horse John Deere tractor then he ran a deep subsoiler through it and more rocks were on the surface than when we started. His wife just said give up guys by the time you remove the rocks there will be a pond.

Not a winter project, but you could float rocks out from the shore to the island on a large truck inner tube with a board on top. Total cost would be under $50. It'd be slow, but you could place the rocks precisely and at your own pace without being constrained by equipment rental time.
@richowell3649Ай бұрын
Brock, use the smaller roks as well they could be wheel barrowed out and dropped in and they work better than the bigger ones. The bigger ones would be used where you really big waves, which you don’tin your pond.

You need to get a telehandler with a bucket to place the rocks

Howdy Brock! Really like the idea of using the materials you have on the property. I think I was on team 'use your own rocks' when the subject came up before. Placing the rocks wasn't something I had considered though lol. But sounds like you have an idea how to get it done. Also think you won't regret building a trail or road to get easier access to the rest of the property. Well done and thanks for sharing 🤠 PS: Carson - ya need to paint some eyes on the ripper so it looks like a T-rex lol

Hello Brock. The mini-ex, with the ripper and thumb, did a great job of picking stones. You mentioned that the rocks are sandstone. Scupltors might be interested in buying rocks for projects. Sandstone can be shaped so the rocks could be used for a stone house. If you had a small barge, could you load a few rocks, float to the island, and then roll rocks over the side? Good luck with the island project. Jim

Brock, why don't you use a conveyor system? There is no need for renting an excavator.
@nathanielmcclanahan981Ай бұрын
I've run heavy equipment for quite a few years mainly excavators and In order to reach where you want to yes definitely an 8 ton machine is needed but if it was me I'd get a 15 ton if you could justify it and I think you'd have plenty of reach to put rocks where you want them. It is a little hard to tell on video how far it actually is but if it was me I'd go for a 15 ton

Yakking stops at 7:40, then action begins. FYI.
@RockhillfarmYTАй бұрын
My experience from publishing 1500 videos is that most viewers prefer the yakking to the action My job would be so much easier if I could just record machines running and post that.

ya it was 50K when he bought it 3 years ago can't get them that low now
@JCWrenАй бұрын
Not that low, but they're also not that much more. The E35R2 starts at $54,270. I don't know how this E35 is optioned, so that would affect the price.
@hudsonvaganis7855Ай бұрын
@@JCWren the E35 is like 65 to 70k new
@JCWrenАй бұрын
@@hudsonvaganis7855 I had literally just gone out to the Bobcat website and gotten that number. Perhaps fully optioned out with the deluxe cab, long arm, and whatever else it might be that. But the base price is exactly what I said it was.
