Not only cows and Kässpatzen come from the Allgäu, but also the biggest and strongest agricultural machines in the world! In Marktoberdorf, Fendt has been building tractors, combine harvesters and harvesters since 1930. Meanwhile, the company with 3000 employees market leader in Germany. In professional circles, the agricultural machines from the Allgäu are considered the noblest and best on the market.
But the road from construction to sale to the farmer is long, after all, the machines have long since become high-tech devices equipped with onboard computers and GPS. The production is therefore very complex and takes place in several steps.
The "1050 Vario" also passes through 29 stations during its production. With a height of 3,60m, a curb weight of 14 tons and 517 hp, it is the strongest standard tractor in the world. At the headquarters in Marktoberdorf, the production of the Acker giant takes place.

This equipment has come a long way. Going back to the early 1950s in East Germany i remember a tractor (that had a "glow head" which had to be heated up using a carbid (?) fired torch to get the diesel started) with a flywheel on it and a long belt (maybe 20 feet center to center) to connect to a monstrous threshing machine.

i wouldn't buy JD just from how locked down they make their stuff in regards to repair and maintenance. I rage when i can't unlock the bootloader on a smartphone, if i paid $500,000 for a tractor that stopped working because some code decided to not work until i pay them money for 5 mouse clicks i would go berserk.

24:35 Where are you getting these numbers? When I was a mechanic, the average or common wheel lug nut/bolt size I had seen on passenger cars was 18mm. Though some cars were 19mm or 21mm, and the medium pickup trucks could be 22mm/24mm or larger. I don't understand the 17mm max, unless they were all "Mini's", but those probably need a special 16mm bmw socket.

Sounds to me like 80mm (just over 3 inches) which is definitely unlikely.

it's literally how a tank track is called, long predates the company
